After some research it seems the genesis console we are discussing doesn't allow the ability to save games. Bummer

Seems like a big deal breaker.

Got to go spend some $$$$ since X-mas shopping is all done.  Grabbed the following....

Shining the Holy Ark complete (Saturn) - $20
Record of Agarest War Zero complete (360) - $15

NES games for a total of $6.00
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
Golf
Kung Fu
R.C. Pro-Am
StarTropics
Tennis

Trying to rebuild my NES collection I sold off some 10 years ago.
Can someone compare the Shining the Holy Ark Saturn game to some other RPGs that it may be most similar too.

Shining the Holy Ark... That's one of my favorite games. It's such an underrated JRPG and for only $20, that's a steal. It's a first person RPG, much like Shining in the Darkness. It's similar to Etrian Odyssey for DS.

Like the pre-loaded stuff or carts too?

There are really only a handful of Genesis games with a save feature anyway.
