Well, I don't have the tools necessary for a satisfactory explosion.

But I could burn it in a pot.

WHAT!?, DC controller is the best sega made!!
could try 'evolution: the world of sacred device', or its sequal, 'evolution: a far off promise', 'marvel vs capcom 2', 'project gotham racing'
really too many to list!
It could be I have huge hands, I can hold a original Xbox controller, But it just has a awkward shape and does not conform to the hand well and forces you to hold it in a weird way. I'm not a fan of the 3 bottom Genesis controller too. Have not tried any others.

Evo looks good, Not a big racing or fighter fan, Do you know any good platformers or adventure games?

check out these, there all excellent, IMHO! (couple of platformers, adventures, RPG's)

legacy of kain: soul reaver
sonic adventure
sonic adventure 2, (i know you mentioned these, but...)
the house of the dead 2, (requires a light gun which will ONLY work with an old tube tv, NOT lcd's or anything like that!)
the typing of the dead (needs the keyboard, obviously, but its soooo much fun!)
jet set radio
ecco the dolphin: defender of the future
phantasy star online
mdk 2
resident evil 2
resident evil 3
resident evil: code veronica
skies of arcadia
maken x
grandia 2

and

shenmue 1 and 2

there was one called 'segaga' where you got to control sega, but i think that was japan only?

the rest of the games i have are fighters, not an expert on the DC, just a fan!

Pickups from today.

Radical Rex was $10 which is a steal... but when I looked at the disc, it had a center crack in it... I told the guy working at the store and he gave me a refund.  I asked what they were going to do with the disc and he said probably just throw it away.  So, I asked if I could just have it and he gave it to me.  I tested it and it actually works... not sure if you can play the whole game but hey, it was free.

Gyromite cart has a Famicom converter in it.

This was from last Saturday

Nights is NIB, game is sealed and controller has never been used. Got Metal Storm for $5, again a steal.  Gyromite has the Famicom converter in it.  I looked for one of these carts in the wild for at least a year and have now found 2 in the span of a week.

Shatterhand is a sick game.  Definitely one of the hidden gems for the NES.  Great graphics, sound, gameplay, and challenge.

Mega Man Legends 1 (Complete)
Mega Man Legends 2 (Disc Only)
Misadventures Of Tron Bonne (Complete, but missing Mega Man 2 Demo)

$140  :D

Someone traded in Misadventures alone at The Exchange and they want $150...  I felt safe with buying the whole set for that much.

IMO this is what I could reasonably get for each:
Mega Man Legends 1 (Complete) - $35
Mega Man Legends 2 (Disc Only) - $30

Which makes Misadventures Of Tron Bonne $75 =D

I bought an NES top loader for $65.  I've been looking for an NES for a while because I haven't had an original one in a long time.  I bought an old model at Game Exchange, but it kept giving me the blinking light.  The cartridge input was really tight too.  I ended up exchanging it twice, with the two others being exactly the same.  Makes me wonder if they tried to replace the 72 pin connectors and did a bad job.

It's just too bad I have to use RF.  Does anyone know if there's a way to boost the RF signal to improve the picture (such as maybe running it through an RF modulator)?  Would a new RF unit give a better picture than the 20 year old one that the console came with?

If you got a top loader, then there is not real pin replacement process. The games just needed a major cleaning.
