I'm wondering what the best paper cutters people have had around here since I seem to only be picking the losers.  I've tried two different ones with the pull down arm (both cut uneven, can't remember name, but one was priced around $30 and the other $60) and another one with the sliding blade thing (can't remember price, but it was awful, the blade was so weak).

Anyways, so now I'm going to purchase yet another new paper cutter for my work and price isn't a big concern - I saw some laser one or something on amazon for $150-200 and that price range is fine with me, I just want one that works perfectly and works for a very long time. Any suggestions?

I've got one of the sliding blade types. I believe the brand is Carl, picked it up at AC Moore craft store. It's absolute crap if you want to get a straight cut :-\

I think a good tip is to avoid most of the sliding ones, they never seem to be as good.

I've used both the rotary blade ones and the old school curved weapon looking ones. I think the rotary ones are faster, but I think they both work well. The key is to be patient with it and make sure your first cut is "perfect". Trying to cut off .1mm of paper is kind of hard with either one.
