So my co workers and I have decided that we like our friend enough to pitch in to get him the Black Friday $200 PS3. I want to know peoples opinions on what else would be good to go with the new system.

I'm going to try for the God of War Collection (1,2,3 CoO, GoS) at WM on BF for $15
Already got Lair and ordered MGS4 for him and snagged the guide for that as well.

 The system comes with Uncharted 1 & 2 and inFAMOUS 1 & 2

He enjoys RPGs, Metal Gear games, Dynasty Warrior games, Gundam (he owns the only PS3 one)

Anything else i should keep an eye open for for him?

He has easy access to those 2 games Madrocsz.

I got him to buy a 360 a while back and he curses me for it. So NOW, he can shut his pie hole because i made this whole thing for him happen.

Aside from that he has free reign to my games/systems. I have those 2. I figured with what he has available and what he already has for 360 to just focus on PS3 titles.

If he's into Dynasty Warriors, why not get him Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage?

I feel like he may have gotten that himself and been disappointed with it.

He lives at home with his Mom and 3 sisters. Dude hasn't had an easy life and drives 45 minutes to work to be a temp for $9 an hour. It seems a LOT easier to get him a PS3 than find him a girlfriend. (Sadly I believe it has been about 4 years since  his last...."interaction" with a lady as well)

On THAT topic, anybody have any suggestions on how to hook him up with a girl?

I tried telling him about that gk2gk site, didn't work, not a populated enough area around here and he didn't like how vague the girls likes, dislikes, descriptions were on most of the ones anywhere near him.

I think his height could be a small crutch for him as well. He's a little over 5ft. Weights about 120 soaking wet.

And he don't want to just "hook up" with a girl for a night.

Eh, I don't know, Skyrim is a mess on PS3, or at least it was.

That's incredibly thoughtful and sympathetic.  The world needs more people like you and your coworkers :)

As far as a GF goes, I've more often than not been introduced to girlfriends (and my wife) by mutual friends. I've never been one to go out and try and talk to girls randomly in a bar or otherwise.  Facebook seems to work for people lately. Friends of friends of friends sorta stuff.

Actually, that's how I met my girlfriend.  My best friend was tagging pictures and instead of tagging me she ended up tagging an old hs friend of hers (we actually have practically the same name with the exception of a single letter).  Through there I got curious to know this other girl with the same name and I ended up sending her fb messages.  After a couple weeks we were texting and calling each other which led to planning dates.

I would suggest checking game stores that sell used games. You can likely get half a dozen really good used games for the price of one new one. I'm very fond of the PS3 and love that used game prices are usually really low after a game's been out for a few years.

My friend and I are a bit alike in the Like/Dislike area of games. Unfortunately, RPG and Action Games are the way to go for us. Most PS3 RPG exclusives seem to stay relatively higher in price.

  • Coffee... What would I do without you?
Try the Darksiders games if he likes games like GoW, there GoW-esque. Castlevania: Lords of Shadows might be worth a shot, its basically a re-skin of GoW. You should be able to pick them up cheap enough second hand. I usually find second hand PS3 games are going for about €11.00 (I don't know in $, sorry). I generally don't mind paying that, as ebay + amazon are usually more expensive when you include the transfer charges and P&P.
