I know everyone has seen them by now, but Retrozone does an 8-Bit Xmas cart every year with LED lights and such.

I'm just wondering who owns some of them? I was thinking of getting one as a Christmas card for my girlfriend this year and I would like to know what they are like. I know it is a homebrew game that they Christmas theme and then a personal message if you want, but how are they?

Funny you should ask.  Mine Just came in the mail today along with the English translation Repro of Splatterhouse.
I opted not to get a personalized message.  I guess I had nothing better to say other than Happy Holidays.  This is my first 8-bit Xmas Cart and 5th order from RetroUSB.  The Cart is the usual high quality new production cart you would expect from retrousb.  The full cart sized pcb board is studded with LEDs around the perimeter and blinks randomly when powered up.  I have a front loader and was pleased with the carts blinky lights appearance with the door open and the lights down low.
You can download the game for free on his site.  Its a simple dogfight single screen game.  It is fun enough, but i could see it getting very competitive in 4 player mode.  The included xmas card doubles as the games instructions and has a chick holding a scoped zapper posing with a nes accessory spread.  I'm happy with it and don't in any way feel "ripped off".
I don't know how it would work out as a Christmas card for a girl as it is definitely nerd eye candy.
I've tried to pick up past year prints on ebay with no success.  Might as well just pick one up while they last. The 8-bit xmas music is actually pleasant to listen to and the lights add to the fun.
Cheers

Thanks! Well I'm lucky that my gf likes video games. I have my NES sitting on our tv stand not hooked up. And she is always like "when are you going to hook it up," so I'll be able to use this as a cheesy excuse to hook it up on Christmas day!  ;D

Thanks for your post. It was very informative. I'm going to download the rom, I saw it on the site before you said something, but I wanted to try it when she wasn't at home! thanks man!
