I really like that 2nd NES cover. I'm totally diggin those cartridge ridges on the side. 8)
Brandon:
I like the Red NES cover with the WHite text. But if we want each system to stand out (which isn't a bad idea) I's say the Red with black text or the grey with red border.
wiggy:
I'm digging a lot of these. Have you considered doing something like this so you don't have to cover up bits of the template? I think it'd just look a little more retail-like and keep the template more consistent from cover to cover.

Hmm... I hadn't considered that. Let me a try a somewhat less obtrusive version of that...
It still ends up covering the art more than I'd like (especially the prime game-logo real estate), and I'd have to design the covers around it. My earlier version was placed so that I could design the cover art without worrying about it, and then toggle it on/off to create covers with or without it. Plenty of SNES exclusives never featured the logo, after all, and it's nice to easily have both options for those games.
Also, since the SNES boxes that did have the "Only For" symbol on them had them covering the black frame more than the art itself, I actually think putting it where I originally did is more retail-like. In fact... SNES, N64, Gamecube (well, barely), XBox, XBox 360 (before the packaging redesign)... They all have their "Only For/On..." emblems over their top banners or frames. The only one that doesn't is the one on the newer PS3/PSP/Vita games.
... And it feels truer to the "torn away paper" look Nintendo was going for.

Hmm, well maybe a unique "only for" logo is in order ;) I always thought the torn paper thing was pretty weak :-\
