JDavis's "Modern" style covers (Latest: Perfect Dark | WIP: METAL GEAR!?)
JDavis:
Life's been busy. Here's larryinc64's Super Mario 64:

Looks good, can't wait too see what you did with the MK64 base. I may whip up some Zelda 64 cover bases for you.
Need a Yoshi Story or a Star Fox 64 cover? Found some good art for that recently.
JDavis:
Well, let's... slow down a second. :-X
While I appreciate the enthusiasm and helpful intent... I mainly intend to use covers I've made myself.
I realize I'm not being especially speedy at putting these things together, and that's part of why I'm working on getting the template presentable so that anyone else who wants to use this cover style doesn't have to wait on my slowness.
I'm not trying to be snobbish or whatever. :) I enjoy making these. Art, particularly photoshop stuff, has been one of my hobbies since I was in highschool, carried through as my minor in college, but nowadays these covers are about the only practice I get at it.
And there's just something really nice about looking at a shelf and seeing games in covers that you yourself spent hours putting together. It's that personal touch. This is my "A Link to the Past". There are many like it, but this one is mine. ;D
...And it'll help me cull my collection down a bit. I'm not going to make a cover for a game unless I've spent some time with it... And if after playing a game for a while I decide I don't really like it enough to spend several hours making a cover for it, then it's probably not worth the shelf space. :-\
So... if you're putting the covers together for yourself, that's fine, but if you're just trying to help me out... save yourself the time and just link me to the art :)
I threw together some blank covers for the many games I haven't gotten around to yet. They're grayscale 'cause I don't feel like wasting color ink on them. I'm gonna print these out, write the names on the fronts/spine with a sharpie, and throw them in the cases. That way I can at least tell what my games are. There's a small gray border around the outside so I know where to cut 'em out.

Its alright.
I just got all this art that I want to do something with, but I'm going retail for my covers, and Onion cases are probably not going to be clear so Inlays are out for now. I may make some posters, got a big empty wall in my room behind me.
I tacked Yoshi Story and Star Fox on after I posted it because I just came across some art, including a uncrowned image of the front box art.
I'll post the art I found into my Box.NET account.

Still working on posting more.

Okay, I'm not dead! Been away from the site for a couple weeks while I focused on some other stuff... I'm always juggling too many plates >__>
Anyway, one thing I worked on was getting those temporary black & white covers on my games:
Probably wouldn't have taken nearly as long if I could resist the urge to doodle the logos instead of just writing them. I've also got plenty of loose carts there, since I don't have enough cases. That's going to stay the case until the Onion cases are out.
Anyway, I also realized during all of that that... I forgot 32X. Understandable, since I only have two games for the thing:
No other progress has been made on the template or any covers :-\
