System Link Blues

Does anyone else do system link often? Because I do, and for all the time I have been doing I'm still playing only Halo and Halo 2 on the system link.
Why? Because I've run into problems I cannot explain or have stupid reasons for happening.
I've tried to system link BattleFront 2 on two Xboxes and it won't work because one is a Platinum Hits version and one is a black label version.
I've tried Brute Force and I have no freaking idea why it won't work.

So, here is my question..does anyone have recommendations? Ones that will work for the Xbox 360 preferably.  

One other less important question, does anyone know how to remove a hard drive from an Xbox and place it into another Xbox without comprimising the memory?

presumeably your talking about the old Xbox and not the 360?
if so then you could probably do that if you soft-modded it, i used the hot swap method and the unleashx dashboard, and it did'nt affect the old save states at all. no idea if its possible or not without soft-modding...

I assume it's the same code, but I noticed some minor differences between the Platinym Hits and the Black Label version, still mad thouh, BF2 cost 30 bucks on Amazon and it's hard to find it anywhere else.
So now, I need to hunt doen another BF2.
