Too much!  LOL.
.

The game is pricey enough as it is, now try and find the fricking manual.  There was a BiN for cart and manual for $650

:o Whoa.....must be a REALLY great game to go ahead and spend that much for it.

It actually kinda sucks - at least the 5 mins I spent playing it.

I'm trying to get a full official US NES set (minus Stadium Events) so that's why I bought it.

My rule for buying expensive games that I won't play is that the cash has to come from profits I make from buying and selling games.  All of my purchases from the last 6 months or so have been done this way.

I got very lucky and bought a collection of games off a guy, kept a few items but resold the rest and made about $1,200 so I've been picking up a few games I thought I'd never be able to afford.

It's a hobby and I've got it to a point where it's self supporting so I don't spend anything out of my actual paycheck to acquire these older games.  I have a separate budget for newer gen stuff that I also keep in check. Trust me the GF would kill me if I spent $$ on Flintstones instead of paying the mortgage  ;D

If I ever need money badly in the future I'll be able to sell alot of the rarer, expensive games for more than what I paid.

Yeah, you'd think, wouldn't you? ;D

It's actually not a bad game.  I like the fact that you get to switch between Fred and Barney (although they both share a life bar) and that they each have different platforming and attacking abilities.  The platforming elements aren't nearly as clunky as The Jetsons (although I did like the Jetsons cameo in Rescue of Dino and Hoppy) and it's a fairly easy game at least up until the last level.  It's no Panic Restaurant or Little Samson (or either of the Power Blades which are both sexy games) but it's a decent title.

Not worth the price of admission, though, but let's be honest - no game is worth that kind of coin on gameplay alone, although there are many who have spent far more on MMOs for sub fees and premium services/items/etc.  That kind of price is strictly a collector's buy price.

I'd love to do that but I almost never resell things or pick up lots and flip them.  Nearly everything I buy is solely for the collection, so it's all pretty much out-of-pocket (which makes me one of those 'suckers' you hear about buying overpriced crap ;D ).  The exception being the boxes I'm getting in to make covers out of, which I will resell once I'm done making the covers.  Otherwise, I buy 'em to keep 'em.  But if you have the patience and knowledge there is definitely money to be made doing what you do, so good on you for that!

A few randoms that I was able to win reasonably priced auctions on and take advantage of some combined shipping.

When picking these up I also received a photo radar ticket from Quebec.

I took a trip to Montreal not too long ago and they photo radared me going 110 in an 80 km construction zone on the highway.  It was Sunday night and there were no cars around whatsoever.  I was wondering why there were no cops ... I guess they just get ya Big Brother style.  Now I'm down $280.

I'm actually cool with it except for the fact that everything is in FRENCH ONLY despite the fact that Canada is a bilingual county.

I'm in the "Quebec should just separate" camp, however I'd like to somehow get Montreal in the deal.  Love that city.

Well mate, I hate to say it but I think you got fleeced on that one.  No way are those games worth $280. ;D

On the bright side, you can expect to have a cover for that Bad Street Brawler sometime in the not-so-distant future... ;)

Oh No, I got a speeding ticket sent to the post office at the same time.  Edit - can't tell if you were being serious or joking  :P

It was $280 and was waiting for me at the post office along with the package of games.

The most expensive game was The Last Ninja at about 11 bucks.  Was glad to grab Kings Quest V for $9.  It's usually around $20 when I come across it.

The ticket and the games are unrelated events.  I just ended up receiving them both at the same time.  ;D

Looking forward to any covers you make in the near future!

Yeah, I was just being a smartass.  I thought you meant that on your way to pick up your games you got hit with a $280 speeding ticket which meant it cost that much (plus purchase price) for the games, in which case it would obviously have been a ripoff.  I guess I misread, so the 'joke' kinda fell flat on its face. ;D

Anyway, great that you got KQV for such a good price.  Even though it's not the best port (it's even a bit worse graphically than the EGA version on PC) it's still fun to own a Sierra game that I played so much as a kid on the NES.  As a kid I loved KQ and part of me wanted it on NES as well, but thankfully there were always other titles I wanted more for birthdays/Christmas that I didn't burn one getting it.  Still, it's always been kind of a sleeper/midrange title price-wise because I guess it was on the rarer side, so congrats on picking it up for a good deal!

Haha thanks.

The trip to Montreal was actually to go some Flea Markets to look for games and anything else of interest really.

I didn't find much so at the last one I picked up Zanac for $5.  So I guess you could say I spent $285 on Zanac .. LOL.

I'd prefer not to think of it that way though  ;D

grats on the flintstones. Honestly while I collect rare stuff I have zero interest in owning that one lol, I rented it from BB when I was a kid and hated it.

I think the most expensive NES game I am still after is Little Samson, and I am willing to pay a good bit for it. I don't want any of the random myriads, bubble bath babes etc

Was too excited after my initial pic to do any more.  I was a bit disappointed by the game case itself, if I remember later today I'll post pics of that.  Let's just say that the picture on the box is a bit misleading.

Well, this month I bought/acquired 7 games. I'll put up pics later today.

PSP
1. Dante's Inferno (It's a pretty kickass game so far, and it was well worth the $15 I paid for it, CIB.)
2. Infected (I Iost my previous copy, so I bought a new copy, CIB for $5 at GameStop yesterday.)
3. Star Wars: Battlefront - Renegade Squadron [Greatest Hits] (I got this game again for 3 reasons: 1. It was $3 at GameStop, CIB, 2. I was looking for the Greatest Hits version of this game, and 3. I'm giving my black label copy to my cousin, Mark, because he loves the Battlefront series.)

DS ***[These DS games aren't CIB, as GameStop had no boxes with covers for them.]***
1. C.O.R.E. (It's kinda like Halo on the DS. I got it for $5)
2. Dementium: The Ward (Very creepy, but fun,. The boxart I found for it online says that it's like Doom 3 meets Silent Hill. I got it for $7)

PS2
1. L.A. Rush (A friend of mine named Ben, gave me this game CIB, for some of my Halloween candy my mom sent up to me, at this vocational school I'm at right now.)

PS1
1. Driver 2 (A friend of mine named Ben, gave me this game CIB, for some of my Halloween candy my mom sent up to me, at this vocational school I'm at right now.)
"Some people f**k at funerals. I cut off heads!" -Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle)-

LOL!  I know that feeling :)

Bummer that it's not as cool as it would seem :/
