This is the end of 400 for me :/

So, went to look for games for N64 guy, and I got one for him, 3 for me.  Dammit, I can't stop myself when faced with fun, cheap games.

First, picked this up at the post office today:

Hori Mini Pad! Cost $56 after shipping (from Japan), which is fairly decent for one of these  :)

Then I went to visit a friend of mine and- Oh my.  :o

... What did I do?

Well, let's see. Part of this big haul is some anime, which isn't games, but for the sake of being complete:

The only somewhat gaming-relevant stuff there is Advent Children (still never watched it), Final Fantasy Unlimited... and Karas (the main character of which appears in Tatsunoko VS Capcom).

Moving on to what you probably already saw sticking out of the boxes...

The Vault-Tec lunch box, Fallout 3 artbook, and making of DVD that came with the collector's edition of Fallout 3. I already have Fallout 3 (on PC), so these will just add to it.

By the way, I haven't cleaned or tested any of the following games yet. Brought them home and started taking pics right away, so forgive the dust on some of them...

Next is a toploader NES! ... With a third party power supply and original controller instead of the dogbone... But still: Toploader! No more fighting to get my games to load! Speaking of NES games...

Arkista's Ring (with manual!)
Donkey Kong 3
Paper Boy (label peeling slightly...)
Snake Rattle 'n Roll

Moving forward a few generations for no good reason: XBox and 360 games!

Conker: Live and Reloaded (missing manual)
Dead or Alive Ultimate
Guilty Gear X2
~~~
Infinite Undiscovery
Lollipop Chainsaw
Onechanbara
Shadows of the Damned
Tenchu Z
Then moving over to PSP and PS3...
Initial D: Street Stage (import)
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Secret Agent Clank
~~~
Little Big Planet
Ratchet & Clank Future:  A Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank Future:  Tools of Destruction

I've never played any of the Ratchet & Clank games before, but as you'll see a little further down I now have almost all of them.

Moving to PS2..

Armored Core 3
Armored Core Last Raven
Chaos Legion (Missing Manual)
Devil May Cry (Missing Manual)
Devil May Cry 2
Devil May Cry 3

Never played Armored Core or DMC either.

Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII
Dragonball Z Budokai 3
Killer7
Manhunt
Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon (Missing Manual)
Need for Speed Underground

Onimusha
Onimusha 2
Onimusha 3
Ratchet & Clank (Missing Manual)
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal

Haven't played Onimusha, either. Lots of series I now have plenty of incentive to get into :P

Oh, hey, Dreamcast games, too!

Ratchet: Deadlocked
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Zone of the Enders
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (Missing manual)
~~~
Draconus Cult of the Wyrm
Fur Fighters
Sonic Adventure
Super Magnetic Neo (Was told doesn't work; will try fixing with disc resurfacer at work)
Next: Gamecube!
Bloody Roar: Primal Fury (inkjet printed German cover?)
Custom Robo (Missing manual)
Luigi's Mansion
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Pikmin
Starfox Assault
Then how about some DS?
Kirby Mass Attack
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Pokemon: SoulSilver Version
Plants vs. Zombies
Scribblenauts
Touch Detective
Trace Memory (No case or manual)
The World Ends with You
Next pic has Genesis, N64, GBA games and some misc hardware:
Mortal Kombat II
Sonic Classics
Sonic Spinball
Vectorman
~~~
Bomberman 64
Paper Mario
~~~
Advance Wars
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
~~~
GBC Gameshark
Skyward Sword Wii Remote+

Now some PS1 games... with cracked cases.

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
Digimon World
Threads of Fate
Wild Arms
Worms: Armageddon
Xenogears <--- Bold for emphasis! ;D

At least those have their manuals, though... This next bunch isn't as lucky:

Breath of Fire III (No artwork at all, and told it doesn't work. Hoping I can fix with a resurfacing)
Frogger (Has back art)
Gameshark
Gameshark Lite (Just disc in generic case)
Gex 2: Enter the Gecko (Has back art)
NHL Face Off (Just disc in generic case)
Spyro the Dragon (Has back art)
Q-Bert (Just disc)

Then there's the final system: SNES...

Clayfighter
Kirby Super Star
Samurai Spirits (SFC version of Samurai Showdown)
Street Fighter II Turbo
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (Label a bit worn)

Chrono Trigger...s.

I've been told the US copy here doesn't work, but I'm hoping that it's just the pins being dirty and that I'll be able to fix it by opening the sucker up.

And last, but by no means least: Super Mario RPG

... And EARTHBOUND!

Now, the obvious question: How much did this all cost me?

In a way... nothing at all.

More accurately, though, I loaned this friend quite a bit of money some months back, and this reduced his debt to me by about $900 ($800 if you leave out the anime)

Good lord, that is quite the haul... and even saying that is an understatement. Anyways, I wouldn't worry about getting anymore Ratchet & Clank games, as you have all of the best ones; After Crack in Time they start to "experiment" with the IP, and it hasen't been doing so well as a result... that and the newer Ratchet & Clank games are victims of "Project $10". I would try to get the manual for the original game, though.

The remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day is not as good as the original, and it's solely because of the censorship. The graphics are at least pretty to look at, though, so for free it's definitely not a bad acquisition!

Get a case and manual for Trace Memory, as it totally deserves it.

You can get the entire Sonic Genesis library via Sonic Mega Collection (Vanilla or Plus), or Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, though the latter doesn't allow lock-on.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is much better than the SNES version, which can be gotten on the Virtual Console for $8, or as part of the Dream Collection with Wii-Remote controls. You should try to sell the cart, since it goes for $20-$30. Just my honest suggestion, you don't have to listen to it. I would keep Mario All-Stars+Mario World regardless of whether I owned the Wii All-Stars collection or not, just a FYI.

Again, Chrono Trigger is best on DS thanks to some exclusive new content, and the console version can be gotten on VC for $8 (Or is it $10?). I suppose the famicom cart would make for a good curiosity piece, though, so feel free to keep that version.

That N64 controller looks really good, but $60 really? :( I would so cop one for sub-$20.

Those Hori controllers for the N64 really rock and are worth every penny.

I plan on getting one when I go on vacation to Japan.

No more broken sticks.....

Yes I would love to have an n64 horizon controller. Wouldake 64 games so much easier to play. I detest the original controllers.

So lucky... I want earthbound so bad...

Most likely, but for most people I;d imagine it would be quite the process. Would probaly be more convenient and (ultimately) cheaper to just get that Hori pad.

I'll be keeping an eye out... my N64 controller sticks work fine, but I DO still own a cart of Mario Party 1...

A few of the games in that haul fall under the category of "games I kinda sorta already have":

Sonic Adventure (already have DX version on Gamecube)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (already have PSX version and used to have this version, before I loaned it to a now-former coworker who never returned it)
Pokemon: SoulSilver Version (have Heartgold. Same difference)
Plants vs. Zombies (have Steam version)
Sonic Classics, Sonic Spinball, and Vectorman (have Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (have on 3DS Virtual Console)
Kirby Super Star (have Kirby's Dream Collection)
Samurai Spirits (have Genesis version)
Street Fighter II Turbo (have... 4 other different versions of Street Fighter 2... Special Championship Edition, Super, Hyper, and Super Turbo HD Remix)
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (have both individually and Wii version of All-Stars... and NES carts of 1-3 ... And GBA version of SMB3...)
Chrono Trigger (have DS release)

Ah. Do note that digital games, especially those on Nintendo hardware, should never act as a substitute for a physical copy. So regardless of you owning the digital version of Minish Cap, I would highly advise to keep the cartridge. I would also keep SoulSilver anyways in case you need to trade Pokemon, or if you want to play through the games with two sets of Pokemon teams.

I remember the day I picked up Clay Fighter brand new. I thought it was sooooo cool that it had a theme song and not just theme music.  Not the most common thing in the 16-bit era.
