Black pre-mod is gone!   Glass lenses are on their way as well, plus a different clear blue paint.  What I had wasn't a very good color :-\

Hey Wiggy. Been meaning to ask if you've tried one of your generic back lights in a game gear, or can think of any reason why one wouldn't fit?
Not a fan of the standard LED mod for them.

I swear I spend more time working on GGs than playing games at all.

Looks pretty sweet Wiggy.

I got 2 things I see that I would do though.

On page 6 there is a huge space between the word "solder" and the word "the" on number 1 without the switch.

Then I would make a disclaimer that if they fuck up something that it isn't in any way your fault bla bla bla you broke your system now suck it up bla bla bla... you know. Then under the tools required section for the disclaimer, you could put a brain lol.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

If you'd mod the Game Gear with a modern LCD/LED screen... I'd be sold. I'd be number one on your list!

I've wanted this really bad too  :)

The pixel resolution is all wonky when using a modern LCD/LED screen since the GG uses such a small pixel width and height. Every mod i've seen only uses a small portion of the screen for the games.  It basically looks like a small picture in a big black window.

Yes, but they're too small to fill the entire screen :(

I'm working with my guy to try and get larger backlights for this very purpose :)

It's because of the paragraph format that I used.  It fills the entire width, so it will expand the space in between letters in order for the type to meet each end of the type box (which is the width of the pics).  This is what I'm talking about.

A disclaimer isn't a bad idea.  I'll have to look up some standard forms on teh webz.  Thanks!

I haven't seen this done (well) yet.   I know it can be done with the Nomad, just don't know if there's a modern LCD that would get along with the resolution of the GG.

LOL!  Thanks!   Hopefully I'll get a chance to look at it.  Right now I'd just like to get the OEM screen backlit in as nice a way possible :)

How about a Game Gear output to TV chip?  I know there was a guy over at sega-16 that was making them but that was awhile back.

Do you have a link?  It's not something I've ever looked at, but I have heard a lot if folks talking about it and wanting something like that :)

That checkout seems to still work. Why not just buy a kit from him?  Or is it just that you need it installed?
