I sooooo need to learn how to weld. My sister's BF keeps offering to teach me, I just gotta find the time.

Nice SRT-4, wiggy. I have a 95 240SX that I plan on turboing real soon...

Thanks!  I really loved that car, despite it being a total piece of shit (from the factory, not because of anything I or someone else did to it).  Picked up an IS300 last fall. Plan on a road course build at some point. It's bone stock for now.

Sweet!  My neighbor (also a car/video game junkie) has a red top swapped S13 and a B18 swapped CRX that we did together last summer.  He's attempting a wire tuck on the 240 right now. I told him its a bigger project than he could ever imagine, and he's quickly figuring that out. At least the motor/trans and interior were already out of the car. Makes that mod a TON easier.

Planning on anything specific for the S14, or just a highway cruiser?

Doc, my wife has turned me over to the dark side of tea drinking.  Although I can't drink it boiling hot like you folks seem to. I don't how she does that shit. Right from the tea pot to her lips. It literally burns me when I try to do that LOL!

Oh yeah, she does the milk thing too. Still, that doesn't cool it down enough for my wimpy American mouth ;D She tells me that I drink it when it's cold, but in reality it's still warm, just not super hot.

I have all kinds of other hobbies besides games.

In my teen years and early twenties I was very into skateboarding and making videos of it with my friends.  I was decent at it and won a few local contests even.  I still enjoy it to this day although I'm nowhere near as good at it as I used to be but it's still plenty of fun.

I also like to snowboard in the winter.   I still do it often although I'm more into cruising down the hill now az opposed to spending all day in the park hitting the same jumps over and over again.

I'm also really into music ( mainly punk, rock, and Indy) and used to play drums.  Haven't been able to play in a few years since I moved into a town home and the noise would be too much for the neighbors.  Rock Band is the closest I can get now a days.  I'd love to learn how to play guitar some day however I feel like I'm too old (30) to start learning.  I can't see myself finding the time to learn.

I also like to work out / run which I just started doing a few years ago.  Getting a desk job out of college combined with night courses and a brutal diet made my waistline a bit bigger which I didn't like.  I more do it just to keep in shape, not to get huge or anything.  I find going for a run with some good tunes on to be very therapeutic.

The last thing I'm really interested in is mixed martial arts.  I used to do jiu jitsu as a kid (I still remember 5 ways to get out of a headlock - all involve nut shots :) ) and so Ive followed the sport since the beginning.  I really appreciate the work that the fighters have to put in and how 99% of all the fighters show amazing respect and sportsmanship.  I think it's crazy how 2 guys can try and beat the crap out of eachother for 15-25 minutes and shake hands afterwards.

So yeah.  I'm into a bunch of things.  I'd like to learn how to build things / mod systems etc.

I get lots of wiered looks from colleagues at work when they find out that I'm an accountant who likes to skateboard and play video games.

anime sucks!, get over it fanboys!! (lol!)

Most of it: Yes.

It's just another medium. There's a lot of comics out there that suck, and novels that suck, and movies that suck. And video games, for that matter :P

I just don't like to see anyone turn down an entire medium because they haven't come across anything they like within it. ;D

As for fanboys... *shudder* A lot of anime fans have no idea what the actual good stuff is. They just go along with what everyone else likes. Same goes for the studios, unfortunately. A lot of "me too" series getting produced whenever someone has some success. That's why I tend to stick to studios that I know do good work and/or older anime that have proven reputations (and even then, I don't always like the stuff. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a great example. Don't really care for it. Too whiney.)

Summary: You might like anime if you found one that suits your tastes. Since you're into fantasy novels, I might suggest something like Record of Lodoss War, which started out as actual D&D sessions before being transcripted into novel form and then adapted into anime.

I really like 90's and some modern anime MOVIES, but I can't do the TV series stuff aside from Neon Genesis (the original). Stuff like Akira, Neo Tokyo, Nina Scroll, Roujin Z, etc.

I dunno how I really fit into the anime fan community. I like comedic romance and/or action stuff mostly. In fact, I like a lot of the more traditional "girl" anime. I sorta like Dragonball, but it seems too repetitive for my tastes. Never seen the mega popular ones like Bleach or Naruto.

Some of my all time favorites:

Azumanga Daioh
Ranma 1/2
Urusei Yatsura
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
Rurouni Kenshin
Haibane Renmei
CardCaptor Sakura (I'm not ashamed to admit it)
2x2=Shinobuden
Slayers

I've seen many others that I just can't get into, even though I seemly should. The last "new" anime I saw was Lucky☆Star, and aside from the extremely amusing ending with
Konata badly singing Cha La Head Cha La, I just couldn't handle it. I never finished watching it.

Planning on anything specific for the S14, or just a highway cruiser?
Just make it go faster, lol. Probably going to drag it every once in a while. Maybe autox and some light drifting. I plan on using an S15 turbo (Garrett GT28R) on the KA. But first, upgrade suspension. KYB AGX struts + H&R sport springs, NISMO control arms, CUSCO strut tower brace. I've got 17" 350Z wheels on it with 225/45/17s in the front and 245/40/17s in the back. After the suspension, I'll probably add Z32 brakes up front, then turbo. I figure I'll be better off with more power if I can control and stop it better first.

My hobbies beside gaming are pretty slim, School takes up most of my time.

Before class every morning I like to go to the gym for about an hour and a half. Also, since garage sale season is done, I have started going Saturdays mornings too. Im working towards running a full marathon next summer and training for my possible career in the justice system.

During the summer I also do something called Geocaching which is basically a glorified treasure hunt with a GPS. Check it out if you want to go for a hike and be active. It is a good way to find sights and areas you normally would never. I only do this in the summer though, just because its a pain in the winter.

And I guess lastly Iv noticed a lot of people here like anime. The only anime I really ever got into was DBZ and that was because I grew up with it. I still love the show and will watch it from time to time.

Good plan ;)

My buddy just did Z32 brakes.  He loves em!

We're pretty much the same boat. In addition to Urusei Yatsura, I'm also in the middle of Slayers Next and the original Dragon Ball (which I much prefer over Z). Lucky Star gets much better after the first 6 or so episodes (the head guy was basically forced to hand it over to someone else), but even then it's not exactly a must-see series. If I were to recommend a recent series to you, it'd be Nichijou.

Funny, light-hearted, usually some romantic angle... that's my main cup of (green) tea.

I like those sorts of more serious/dark action anime, but only when I'm in the mood for them, which isn't very often. It's probably the reason I didn't take to Evangelion (wasn't in the mood for it), and I haven't given it a second try (though I like the Rebuild of Eva movies so far).

you forgot the obsession with teenagers in upskirts, and the generic cliche topics.
