MOD YOUR UNIVERSAL GAME CASES THE SEGAMER WAY

So, I use a large set of toe nail clippers. However, the end of them have a convex shape instead of concave. I pull the middle pin out of them so they fit over the area of the UGC that needs to be modded for NES games.

I use Grip Pliers over the toe nail clippers.

Cutting is easy, fast and clean.

The cut is right up against the case.

I've been using a soldering iron with one of these tips lately.

Hhhmmm... I'd like to see the results of using a cutting iron. Does it look pretty good?

If you're careful, yes.  But it IS easy to slip and make a mistake.  Next time I make one I'll snap some pics :)

Also, your avatar is missing a little 'action', if you know what I mean ;)

A soldering iron is not bad but a tad slower than a dremel.

The fumes from the melting UGC could be a bit cancerous as well.....
2 + 3 = 23

Photobucket is good with GIFs. That's where I host em ;D

And yes, the fumes are rather unpleasant. I would recommend a fan and good ventilation for sure. Also, move quickly LOL!

Wiggy, I couldn't figure out how to use an animated gift. I posted it via mediafire and used a direct link but mediafire converts it or something. I also tried box.com. No luck.

Fixed.

Oh, as an FYI, it's way faster than a dremel and far less messy. I've used like every method known to man, and the hot knife is the best so far IMO. The stink is no fun, but every method has downsides. Dremel scatters crap EVERYWHERE, snips are SLOW, normal knives require a lot of force and the likelihood that you'll cut yourself is pretty high, and the hot knife stinks like downtown Cleveland LOL.

It's all about what you're prepared to deal with. I don't mind slapping on my paint respirator and hot knifing it up ;)

The other thread wasn't made by me. I was trying to complete the requests on that thread so it could be closed out but it kept growing and the title was changed to the segamer requests topic.  I will prioritize the punisher cover.
