For a while now, I've started a few review series on my youtube channel. Among them is a series I call the Controller Chronicles, named of course after the long running public broadcast of yesteryear, The Computer Chronicles.

This series aims to showcase the best gaming controllers on the market with some thoughts on their design, performance and pricing. You can expect more of these such reviews in the future, so stay tuned! If there's anything you'd particularly like me to cover, let me know and I'll try to get around to it. Of course, I can only review controllers I own.

The newest entry in this series is the HoriPad Mini 64.

You wouldn't happen to have the 64 controller that looks like a ps1 controller? I can't remember who made it, or the name. But I always wanted one when I was younger. It is in the 1999 Buyers Guide, I can't remember who printed that magazine either. But man I want one!

Satosh, your SNES/SFC controllers need a date with some soapy water and a toothbrush LOL!  They're looking a little funky around the D-pad.

May also be worth noting that both the shell and XYBA overlay are different colors between US and PAL/JP versions. JP/PAL are a warm gray and the US version is a cool gray. Not a big difference, but a difference no less ;)

The Logitech PS2 wireless controller is in my opinion, the best controller ever made. I remember when I worked at "major gaming retailer" I had to field destroy one of those and I broke the tile on the floor and hardly put a crack in that thing. Completely solid. Soon after I bought a set for my PS2 and love em, especially since I like to throw controllers when *cough* a game cheats* and it took it like a pro.

Oh god do i love giving a Field Destroy controller a good spike!  :o

In all seriousness though i completely agree. I have two of those controllers for my PS2 and they are very well built. The only controller better is PS3 Dualshock 3 ... but thats not a fair comparison  :P

Lol well I have shattered 2 dual shock 3's and threw another into the woods, been a while since I used the PS2 controller but I know it was abused and never broke. Yeah.... I can get pissy in games, especially w/ 3 year old and wifey in ear

On the subject of the SGB controller.  Why does the Jpn version not work on a pal console?  And is that an incompatibility with all pal/NTSC sticks/pads on the snes?  Ie: are the ports wired differently?

PAL SNES are kinda screwed that way, you gotta mod the ports to use ANY imported controller (either Japanese or American). Fortunately the mod is fairly simple:

I freaking love the Logitech wireless controllers, bought one for my PS2 and one for my Xbox.  Why didn't they make one for the GameCube?  The Xbox Logitech controller is better then the Microsoft's 360 controller, IMO.
Does Logitech make any controllers for current gen consoles?
