Am I the only one that won't move on to the next generation?

Wait...the diablo 2 expansion?
Since you have the original disc, why not use a key generator or a patched exe? At the very least you'd still be able to play offline. I can't speak for the online portion since I never played that game online.
Or maybe contact Blizzard to see if they can help out?

well you need the key to install the game, so a patched EXE wont be of much help, and keygens can often carry viruses.

Easy. You have two younger siblings who don't take care of anything, CDs get moved around, cases misplaced, etc. I've also moved probably 3 times since we bought it so that doesn't help. In the case (no pun intended) of Lord of Destruction, (and like all other Blizzard games) the CD Key is on a sticker that is stuck to the jewel case. Then the cases get cracked or broken or lost and its bye bye CD key.

I've actually used a keygen before, but it just kinda sucks that I can't go online and I can't register the game on the new battle.net account system since I officially own it. Blizzard isn't going to do anything...there's honestly not much they can do short of giving me a brand new key for free on my word alone.
I recently moved all my PC games to DVD cases and I personally printed the CD keys onto new labels and stuck them to the insides of the cases so I should be good to go from here on out (I think I saved the file on my PC too).

I would definitely contact blizzard. Quite a few times i've had keys fail on me from too many installs (after hard disk crashes, moving to new PC, etc) and have never once had the request for a new key refused.
