I have been thinking about it a lot lately. I have so much backlog on my Wii and PS3. And even more going back to older consoles. Nothing seems really cool so far with the WiiU and I haven't even really looked at the other new systems coming out. I can't be the only one that feels this way.  ???

I've had mine since 2007 and I have enjoyed every second of it. It has a lot of good games. While it hasn't gotten much love in the last year or two, it has been a great console.  ;D

With my ps/ps2/ps3/psp/gc/wii/ds/3ds/xbox360 My backlog is a few hundred games deep...of course I'm still interested in the newer consoles but I will not get one the first few years of it's life.

Maybe 3+ years into the system's life I'll get one but lately the $60 price tag on games is in no way enticing lol.  I'd rather wait for a complete/goty edition or for huge price drops (at least 50%) or for special sales before buying games.

I may still pay full price for some but those would have to be some sort of limited special editions.

I am the same way. I have very rarely paid full price for my ps3/wii games. I'm actually loading up on wii games now. They are basically giving them away. I picked up Wario Land:Shake It and Tamagotchi Party for less than $10 together and they were brand new! I also dislike ending up with two copies of the same game. I have Fallout 3 and the GOTY Fallout 3. But my original Fallout 3 was the collectors edition. So I guess that made it a little better.

I know I will be. I always do. I usually wait for portables to be dirt cheap, but home consoles are always on my must-have list at launch.

I also have a massive backlog, but that doesn't matter at all to me. I don't buy 15-20+ games a month thinking I'm actually gonna play them all through. Lets be realistic here, folks.  If you own 500+ games, then there's no way you're gonna play em all through unless you do nothing but play games all day.

I'm sorta miffed that I missed the pre-order train on the Wii U. That wasn't an option with the Wii and PS3, so I figured it wouldn't be an option for the Wii U and of course I found out that every freakin' place on Earth took pre-orders this time around. Pisses me off.

Are all the pre-orders gone already? I thought about doing a WiiU, just so I can transfer everything from my wii, to my wiiU. I bought a 3DS in like May. I wish I would have waited cause if the Animal Crossing 3DS XL package comes out in the states I'm going to get that. Then I will have two 3DS'.  :-\

I waited until the 360 released the elite versions to get mine. Got my PS3 a year or so later. And the Wii after that.

I refuse to buy launch day stuff. I'm not made of money, the available titles usually suck, i want to know the bugs and problems with them first.

With the SEVERE lack in interest with my current Wii, I don't see me getting the WiiU within the next year or 2...ALTHOUGH....a Pro controller compatible Zelda game COULD push me just a bit

I'll move on probably in a few years, but not now. There have been a lot of growing pains in this HD era, and I feel it's best to wait for the companies to iron out the issues that will inevitably come.

Plus, just some food for thought: my entire game collection sits around 1000-1200 games. If I were to play through everything I own even just once, it would be the NEXT next gen era.  :o ;D

at the moment, ZombiU is the only wiiU game I am interested in. I have never bought a came console at launch, and I never will. I have been near launch on numerous occasions and have been left screwed over, especially with hardware failures which are ironed out in later models, I am looking at you Xbox....original with the Thompson drives....

I got stuck in the PS2 generation, I've got a PS3 but I never use it (except to play PS1 and PS2 games  :D), hated both Xboxes, and loathe that stupid Wiimote. So, I guess I'm a grumpy old man.

Think I am pushing the 1500 game mark but I know dern well I probably will never get a chance to play, especially beat, most of what I have. I keep telling myself "Its my retirement plan"

That said, I am a sucker for new consoles, at least ones with established reputations (damn you virtual boy, worst xmas present ever). I preordered my wii u the day they announced it for pre-orders. Sad thing is, it will probably not get as much play as it should, at least not at first. Main problem being is I love my computer and PC gaming and consoles have always taken a back seat since the gamecube days. Was easier NES-n64 days when they were new, I was a broke kid and only games I owned I beat 30 times over lol.

I said it before, my biggest complaint, and I realize its stupid, is the lack of achievement/trophy system on Wii U. I honestly might play games on the PS3 instead to get trophies, I flat out love them. Also too I know when the 720/PS4 comes out they will carry over.

Also, it makes ZERO fekin sense why the WiiU has 32GB of memory and its honestly a joke

I actually HATE achievements/trophies. I feel that they just suck the joy out of games for some people, turning gaming into a contest of "who has the most points?", as if its at all important.

I dunno, I guess I just don't need a log of points or whatever to make me feel like I've accomplished something or that I'm better than whoever at some game of games.
