I put the Rambo movies in F's for First Blood

Why wierdo?  ;D
Rambo (main name) goes to R. First blood is the subtitle
Bonds probably To J too or 0 for 007.

the title of the first Rambo movie was First Blood. Rambo didn't become part of the title till the sequel; Rambo: First Blood part II.
My LPs Channel. Currently playing Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Resident Evil 2.

On one hand, I would sort of like to sort my games by alphabet/series, without regards to system... But I don't. Mostly because it would take more space, as all my shelves would have to be the height of a DVD or UGC, instead of the height of a CD or DS case.

For a while, I had my Blu-rays sorted separately from my DVDs, for the same reason, but I've finally done away with that.

Similar to what others have said, though, I do tend to break with alphabetization here and there to keep items of a series together and in order. For example, I put "We <3 Katamari" directly after "Katamari Damacy", "Zoda's Revenge: Star Tropics II" and "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" directly after their predecessors, etc. All my Bond movies are together in the B's (for Bond), Godzilla movies in the G's, etc.

My DVD/Blu-rays do have one level of sorting before alphabetization, though, and that's "Not anime/anime". My live action and non-Japanese animation DVD/BRs take up slightly more than one shelf, and then my anime stuff takes up about three and a half (not counting Tenchi Muyo, which I keep on a completely separate set of shelves).

And there's some weird alphabetization decisions to be made in all of that as well. Do you put Neon Genesis Evangelion under N or under E (keeping in mind that the newer movies have dropped the Neon Genesis part of the title)? Do you put "The King of Braves: GAOGAIGAR" under K or G? Occasionally I find myself moving whole series around to appease my changing whims in how to interpret the title. :D

I tried to keep series' together, but it starts to become impossible to do that and keep any sort of other order.  So, I have been just sorting everything by system and then alphabetically.  That said, I go by the strict full-titles of games (but would keep series together within the same console).  For example, Legend of Zelda games all go under "L" and Elder Scroll games all go under "E".

There are lots of NES sets like this.

Legend of Zelda and Zelda II .. I always put my Zelda games at the end of the collection under "Z".  Makes it easy to find those.

For Contra I've got Contra, Super Contra, Contra Force all with the "C's" in that order.

Zoda's revenge is next to Star Tropics and Snake's Revenge is next to Metal Gear.

As an artist/designer, I've always liked the idea of organizing by color, but I wouldn't ever be able to find a damned thing if I did that LOL!

You got any pics of this prettiness?  I'd love to see a setup like that.

I did that with my CDs like 2 decades ago until I hit a few hundred.  Then, like I said, I coldnt find shit!  Maybe I should do that again since they've all been ripped and I no longer have any need to find a specific title on the shelves...
