JDavis:

Yeah, I found it more humorous than anything else.

I plan to use this barcode generator once I've got my new template all set up, but I'm not sure what barcode format the Japanese use. It's not UPC A like America, since it has things like letters in it.

EDIT: After referincing the two boxed Japanese games I have and doing some experimenting, the Japanese barcodes are in EAN 13 format, a generator for which can be found here

Do not include the T at the beginning of some games' code, or the last (13th) digit (which is a checksum digit for error correcting, same applies to the 12th digit for the above UPC A generator for US games). The barcode generator will fill in that last digit for you.

wiggy:

There are free fonts for that too.  Makes life SOOOOOO much easier ;)

JDavis:

Yes, but just using a font you'll likely end up with an improperly encoded barcode. There's certain elements of the barcode that are likely to be missed (the beginning, middle, and end markers; the right half of the barcode being inverted, etc)... It's easier to just use a generator and then paste it in. That generator is especially nice, since it lets you specify the dimensions of the bars; that way you can generate the barcode much larger than you need it to be and then resize it down.

wiggy:

I guess I just don't care about barcodes as much  :-\    Like I was saying, I can't read 'em anyway  :P

edit: On a side note, I had didn't know that the UPC had so many "rules" per se, as you described.  Interesting...
