Hmm. Well it's not really of interest to me, but I bet the homebrew community already sees some potential there. |

I never installed homebrew on my Wii, but if I ever wanted to conveniently emulate some of my old Nintendo games, I would find this little guy appealing. Since it is severely handicapped in several areas (online being the most notable), I really don't think it will sell all that well, which would likely make it a collector's item. I've always enjoyed the top loading NES and the SNES mini. I might take the plunge on this. |

I had 2 Wiis - a white one and later a black one. I installed Homebrew on the white one and there were some pretty impressive things in the works at the time. I remember the SNES emulator had Wii Remote support in place of the Super Scope, so I could play Yoshi Safari on my flat screen tv. I also remember a Sega Saturn emulator in the works. The system later bricked (possibly because of homebrew), so I replaced it with a black one. But that was several years ago. I'd bet that there's some pretty cool homebrew stuff now. The main problem is that without online support you couldn't get to the "Homebrew Channel" to get new stuff. |

Well that would be unfortunate. Could you not load the programs on an SD card and copy them onto the Wii? |

I've never used the web on my soft-modded Wii. Everything is loaded via jump drive or SD card for me. Don't see why that couldn't continue. Still, I don't see why this crippled Wii would be of any more interest to the hacker community than the normal Wii ??? |
