WTF is that bullshit about? >:( --- Quote from: tiktektak on November 21, 2012, 03:52:35 PM ---To clear some things I know for sure up a bit. Seperate WiiU controllers will be available mid 2013 the earliest. BigN says they aren't needed anyway as there will be no games supporting a second tablet controller until then. Afaik the classic controller can only be used for Wii games. Sadly the Pro controller also can only be used for WiiU games. I would have loved to use the pro controller for Wii games.... Please don't assume the U changes anything for Wii games. Nintendo has clearly stated that the U will have NO upscaling capabilities. So the only picture quality gain you get could be because the U finally supports HDMI, if that makes the picture any better. Still all old Wii games run in 480p not 1080p. Do even WiiU games run in FullHD? I thought the will be rather 720p.... --- End quote --- My friend, who is a total videophile, says that VC games on the U are upscaled despite what N says. It pisses him off something fierce, and he says the only reason he ever DL'd any SNES games via VC is because they were pixel-perfect. --- End quote --- I believe your friend is right. For one, I believe all N64 games were upscaled to 480p on the Wii, anyway, but more importantly, when the Wii U outputs via HDMI, it outputs at one specific resolution. For example, I have my Wii U set to 1080p, so it automatically upscales any-and-all content, including Wii mode content, into 1080p. Of course, this is a very basic upscale, with no attempts made to make the image look better, so it really has the same effect as the internal upscaler on most TVs. Even so, HDMI video is of a higher quality than Component, so VC games will look better regardless. --- End quote --- I think better is a relative term. I'd rather they be pixel-for-pixel than upscaled into some other resolution personally. Also, thought I'd leave this bag o' fail here since its semi-related. http://www.nintendo.com/wiimini?country=CA&lang=en/ |

But the no internet connectivity isn't that bad I guess...The only game I really played online was Mario Kart and even that I stopped once cheaters and hackers started taking over the races. Hopefully though they'll bring it stateside...it looks like a nice little system and really that's what the "Family Edition" Wii should've been all along |
