Wii U Launch

The Wii U launch is fast approaching!  



I missed the pre-orders in the first 2 days since they announced the bundles, but thanks to a tip on GoNintendo today, I was able to go to Walmart and get the deluxe bundle put on layaway. I'll still pay it off and get it on launch day or soon after, but I'm glad I didn't have to pay it all up front. Now I can pay it off over a few weeks and separately get New Super Mario Bros. U and a black Pro Controller.

For those of you planning to get one, which bundle are you getting, and what games and accessories? Did you pre-order it and where? Still looking for one? Or are you just going to wait it out in line on launch day?

I'd love to get one right away but the wallet is telling me different

But eventually when they get a price drop I'll definitely pick one up.  Bayonetta 2 would be one of the first games I'd get lol.  All the others I can get on the xbox/ps3 so I'm able to hold off for a bit longer.

One thing I'd like to know though is that even though the system is backwards compatible with wii games and Nintendo says that everything from the wii is transferable...I wonder if that means game saves from Mario Kart/SSBB/Tatsunoko will also be transferable.

I would love to buy one, but there are no games at launch that I have to play as soon as possible, I want to play around with one, It looks like a cool peice of teck, but I have many games to play, such as finishing LoZ MM, LTTP, Illusion of Gaia, ect.

I'm sure saves will be transferable. I imagine a jump drive is all it will take.

This will be the 1st Nintendo home console that I didn't buy on launch day since the NES Too broke right now and I didn't preorder, which would mean standing on line for hours most likey, and I'm too old for that crap.

I'm buying the Black 32gb model. I pre-ordered at GameStore**, only have $20.06 $10.34 left to go before its paid off.

Hells yeah I've got mine pre-ordered! ...I think.

I think I have two Wii U pre-orders, but I may also have none.

I first tried to pre-order one at BestBuy.com. After doing so, I was sent an e-mail telling me there was a problem with my order, and if I didn't call to inquire about it within 5 days, they would cancel my order. So I ignored that, assuming it would be cancelled, but then about two weeks later I received an e-mail telling me that my item wouldn't ship until Nov. 18.

In the meantime, I tried to place a pre-order at EBGames.com, but I am unsure if it'll actually be a launch day Wii U because I should have been charged a $50 fee, but alas that never happened.

Either way, I probably won't be getting one on launch day per se, as it/they will be shipping to my house. However, both orders were for the 32GB Deluxe Set. If I do pick up any other games other than the pre-packaged NintendoLand, it'll be New Super Mario Bros. U. I imagine I'll download a few games from the eShop as well, such as Mutant Mudds Deluxe!

I actually got my ps3 for free, and that's the only reason I have one of them. I've got a whopping 7 games for it lol.

Didn't think it would be THAT lightweight.

Rayman Legend also looked absolutely stunning considering it was just the beta!!!!!

Oh nice! Did you get to see much of the Miiverse interface, or just the games? How did all the buttons feel compared to other controllers?

I preordered and paid mine off day 1, the ONLY reason being is I don't feel like the wii shortage 2.0 when I do actually want one lol.

As far as games, I am still undecided, while the remakes interest me I will wait until they are cheaper. I did preorder pikmin 3 and will probably mess around with nintendoland until then

However, I am 100000% pissed off there is not trophy/achievement system per say, given it can be hinder the gameplay experience I absolutely love them, at least the more challenging and better thought out ones, not the "zomg beat this game on uber hard and break a few controllers in the process" or duke nukem's picking up a piece of poop Take skyrim for example, to get the platinum you literally had to do just about everything in the game, I dont see that "taking away" from such when you do everything lol

Oh nice! Did you get to see much of the Miiverse interface, or just the games? How did all the buttons feel compared to other controllers?

If Tik played the system in the same format i did there is no ability to see anything outside of the game-play.  They had the home button disabled and you couldn't mess around with the UI or anything other than the game demo.

I really wanted to find out more outside of the game demos but i was very impressed when i played. It is very well built and surprisingly light. I even flexed the gamepad in my hands to see how fragile it was and it held up just fine  .  The Game pad controller was also really comfortable to hold. It really contours to your hand well.  The Pro controller felt 95% like the standard wireless 360 controller, which is a GREAT thing in my opinion.

I've had a lot of people ask about the latency. My answer is 'what latency'? I honestly didn't notice any lag between the tv screen and the gamepad screen.  I was very impressed with the streaming and just the quality overall.
