Does anyone watch these? You know, just a dude playing a game, recording it and putting it up online? Some of the ones I actually enjoy are AqualungGameReviews and HCBailey, I have actually attempted to get some LP series of my own started

Ultima 1 (Enhanced version)
Episode 1

Episode 2, aka the montage episode
http://youtu.be/9e0awH0jS3k

a general failure because my save game disappeared....I had initially planned to LP all the Ultima games, but that will come later.

and I also with a friend did a co-play of The Oregon Trail over Skype, which did not pan out well due to me being a cheap ass, using demoware skype recording software that recorded for 5 minutes at a time.

Episode 1

Episode 2

and I am currently working on a LOZ: Ocarina of Time LP where I beat the game with 3 hearts. And I have not given up yet, I am done recording past the Water Temple, just need some recordable DVD-Rs (SL) to get my footage onto my computer for editing.

For the longest time I wanted to start making LPs, but a few things detract me from it.
1. Don't have time.
2. Don't have a good quality microphone/headset.
3. I lack confidence.

Though I've been a long time follower of NakaTeleeli, DeceasedCrab and others doing LPs on Youtube.

My little brother did this with Twilight Princess. He even used a gameshark device to put 3 of the armored guys you have to dodge and hit when they strike in or around Link's House

I don't watch too many LP's, mostly because I find that most people either ramble and ramble, mumble, or just don't say/do anything interesting.
I do watch a few people LP though (mostly for games that are shorter...)

As far as doing LP's... I'm not really interested.
If I'm going to basically be talking to a bunch of people (even if it's through a video) I absolutely need a script (plus I just can't improv ><; )

I am not a fan of Let's Plays. Walkthroughs or "Let's Plays" should really be left to people that know how to play the games that they are showing off. I tried at one point watching a Let's Play of Dark Souls to determine if I wanted the game or not, and I had the "pleasure" of landing on GhostRobo's Let's Play. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8357E84128EEEE8C

I have never been so butt frustrated watching someone play a game  >:(. Between him constantly requesting the viewer to like and subscribe to his videos and constantly rambling about random crap not related to the game, he practically refused at some points to progress in the game because he was scared and didn't want to die. He skipped through dialogue and talked over cut scenes, and then wondered why he had no clue where to go next. This let's play was what I think is the epitome of what it wrong with most let's plays.

This is the only Let's Play that I have truly enjoyed.

Gives the watcher inside information in regards to the development of the game and shows off many of the in-game references to the movies. Terrible game but amazing Let's play.

My favorite "Lets Players" are Jon Tron and Egoraptor in the Game Grumps show.
http://www.youtube.com/user/GameGrumps

Continue? is a good show too, not really lets plays but they play a game for a bit and see if they would Continue or Game Over.

PBG Gameplay is good too, The Minecraft hardcore play was good.

I like Lazy Game Reviews "LGR Plays" also

My stuff gets posted on facebook, and people are clammoring for a commentary. Should I do a riff trax style commentary, where you sync it up with the video or take what I have down, and reupload them with a comm...I actually do not have much to say when it comes to my Zelda stuff. I would actually have more to say with a Ultima 7 lets play as I screw around in that game,

I love them especially if the game sparks nostalgia. I like watching old games I could never beat myself. The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy is a good one.
