What about a blue Mega Man NES ?

That is definitely one of my ideas for future projects.

I definitely want to do a pink one (probably with a Kirby theme) if I can find pink paint.  Gonna head to the hobby store after I sell the orange set (a bit low on liquid funds to acquire additional systems or supplies at the present moment).

I'm actually a bit embarassed to say it, but I've never played Metroid.  Gonna make a point to do so soon (via emulator for now) and if I can find some good quality decals at a decent price, I'd definitely do a metroid themed set as well.

I really had fun doing these so I'm most certainly planning on doing more when I can.  The area I live in is kind of lackluster for NES systems.  Plenty of games and lots of N64 and original X-Box stuff, but the NES systems are either non-existent or way overpriced (it's not uncommon to see people asking over $100 for an NES in rough shape with only one controller and a couple very common games).  Getting some rough lots in need of refurbishing on eBay is probably the way I'd have to go unless I get luck at a garage sale.

-------------

Just a quick note;  While I can not really afford to do so with the console bundle, I would be willing to trade on the individual controllers and advantage joystick if anyone's interested.

Just wanted to let ya'll know...  The sale for the green "Dead Mario" set fell through, so both sets are still available if anyone's interested.

My finacial situation has improved a little bit, so I might be interested in partial trades (as in items and a bit of cash for shipping in exchange for a bundle).  Defintiely willing to trade straight up on the extra individual controllers though.

Things I may be interested in trading...

- "Ugly" NES systems & controllers that would benefit from a refurbishing
- NES Zappers
- Not much sure what else I'd be interested in at the moment, but if you have something to trade and are interested in something I have, feel free to message me.

Alrighty Friends...  Need some suggestions to see what might go over best.

I stumbled upon some good deals on a bunch of 'new' systems to refurbish.  Got four total and plan on doing four of the following themes...

- Red & Black Metroid Theme
- White & Pink Kirby Theme
- Blue & White/Gray Megaman Theme
- Black & Yellow Zelda Theme
- Yellow & Black Mario Theme

Decals are fairly easy to find for all of those, but sadly decent Zelda ones seem to be rather pricey for some reason.  There is a nice Triforce logo (with the three triangles and the artistic eagle) that I did think would look nice in yellow on a black console.  I'm kinda torn between that design and a yellow console with a black flying Mario theme to pay homage to the awesome yellow Super Mario Bros. 3 cart label.  I'm not too overly familiar with the classic NES games and whatnot as I was much more of a SEGA fan when I was younger (having a great deal of fund learning of the NES and it's awesome library of games though), so I'm not sure what would go over best and thought my fellow super gamers might have some more insight on the subject.

So, does anyone care to throw out any suggestions on which four of the themes above might be best to do?  Any other design suggestions are always welcome as well.

Thank You Kindly

Just got back from the Hobby Store (and subsequently Lowes when Hobby Lobby didn't have any decent paint colors).  Sadly, there was no pink color in the right type of paint and I certainly don't plan on half-arsing things with inferior paint on these consoles so I may have to rethink the Kirby themed one for now.  I did pick up a nifty lime green color.  Not entirely sure what I could use that for just yet, but I liked it so I'll figure something out.  Maybe rethink the Zelda them colors...  I don't know right now.  Gonna look and play around to see what seems right.

For tonight, I'm gonna play me some Metroid and try to settle on colors for that one (though I like the yellow and blue idea, that sounds striking).

Update:  Green "Dead Mario" bundle, Green controller, Silver Controller, and Silver Advantage Joystick sold on eBay.

Orange "Duck Hunt" Bundle (now includes Duck Hunt & Operation Wolf Games) and extra orange controller still available.

Also settled on colors an themes for the next four custom bundles.  Gonna be working on them throughout the month.  Will post pics and give The Cover Project members first chance at them once they're finished.

For a Metroid theme, I would chose red orange and green.

As for Zelda, would gold be better than yellow? Yellow does NOT make me think of Zelda.
