Shining Force GBA problems?

Ok so I'm a little upset...

I bought a copy of SF ROTDD a while back and it worked/played etc...
When I went to play it one day I figured out the battery was dead in it. So I put a new battery in it and it worked fine and saved fine. I tested it a few time to make sure.
Tried it the next day too and made it into the game a little bit because I've been wanting to play it.
Now it doesn't seem to work at all. I'm kind of pissed really. I've read online that that specific game has had many problems with it.
Here my problem. The game boy starts up, then acts like its going to play but instead goes to a black or white screen and just stays there... Seriously... Wtf...

Anyone else had any problems with this game?

Have you opened it back up since the issue arose? Maybe there's a short. Did you use a china "brand" battery? That might cause problems too as those cheap-o batteries can run higher or lower voltage than they're labeled. Cheap crap is often just that, crap :(

Na man, I'm at work ATM and don't have my tools with me. I don't think they are crappy batteries. All the other games I've put new batteries work great still.
I will do so in the next day or so.
I've been pretty busy working on my car and trying to clean up after myself lol.

When I get a chance I will send you a list of my repair stuff sorry its tool so long.
