I can't believe things like this and the US version of the Nintendo 64DD are still being discovered. I wonder if a Nintendo CD-I prototype is ever going to turn up?

I don't think hardware prototypes of any of the last few generations of gaming systems will ever have the same intrigue as the older systems. Everything is so much more homogenized now, and it doesn't seem like hardware developers are willing to take risks on corporate partnerships or system add-ons like the 32X or 64DD anymore. I guess I can't blame them though; has there ever been a successful system add-on? Maybe the Sega CD?
