i have made a brochure for a my towns gardening program once (my first paid project) and i used Adobe InDesign.

InDesign works perfect for this kind of thing and also has the facing pages option.

Well .... Indesign sounds good if it allows facing pages etc.

As far as printing goes ... it depends on how many/what volume you intend printing. Inkjets are not great for heavily colour saturated pages as the ink tends to cause dampness ripples and printing on two sides would be problematic as a result. That leaves colour lasers which are less likely to have those issues BUT have a higher purchase cost even if the running costs are way way down on inkjets.

Personally I print covers on my Canon LBP5000 and I'm perfectly happy with the results. Haven't tried a manual though ....

Not to get off topic, but is there any way to upload covers onto here? I've got quite a few I could upload, but there seems to be no option for it!

Look at the left side of the screen, under the Links section. Upload a cover is the forth option down.

Manuals are more complicated. I'm pretty sure only Snowcone can upload them. Even if the other admins can, Snowcone hasn't given me the proper credentials to do so.
