Ugh ,just spent 208$ on a game ...

Man, there aren't that many games you can spend that much on, unless you're talking AES carts, in which case 208 is chump change LOL!

Snatcher, lol - sorta retail priced but I had extra paypal money I have been saving if I could ever get it sub-220$, put 210 on a bid and won it. One of the few more expensive games I am after and brings me down to 1 game for sega cd/saturn I am want (keio flying squadron).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Snatcher-Sega-CD-1994-/160905687347?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=nQ37gXBn5dKoElMltPp0S97XGgE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

While its a ton of money, its money I made selling extras I had so used games to buy games. I somewhat justify it as I get deals on most everything else, sometimes I just have to bite the bullet and buy it

Whew that's a lot of cash for a Sega CD game. Strangely in this case the PAL version seems cheaper than the US if privately bought.

By the way. What do you mean with retail priced? Were Sega CD games THAT expensive in the US????

It's a lot, but I can't say I have seen a copy go for less than 200 in quite some time, especially in the condition I will be getting. By retail I don't mean the original retail price but that of what a current retail video game store might charge for it, meaning higher end

PAL games are often cheaper for the more expensive titles, Little Samson for NES is a great example of this

I've been doing the same as you.

Getting deals on gaming items selling at a profit and spending the profit on the more expensive stuff that I want.

Just pretend that you traded the items that you sold for snatcher straight up and forget that you even spent the cash directly.

That's not too bad of a deal for Snatcher - especially if it's in the excellent condition he describes.  Ever since finding mine last year, I've been watching Ebay to see the pricing trends.  At one point, you couldn't get one for less than $300.  Now, most are in sold in the low $200's.

I'm still not ready to sell mine - I'll only do that if I'm really in a bind and need the money.  Plus, selling on Ebay has it's drawbacks - namely the fees.  Between Ebay and Paypay, the fees end up being about 20% of the selling price.

...got Gamecube...chipped

there are people still doing this?, could you PM me a link?
I got a guy on amibay.com forum to do it do it for me, he doesn't run a website just does freelance repairs and mods. His user name is BadAd84 on there, we are in England though I'm guessing you may be in the states. I mainly got it done because I was sick of loading freeloader via my datel media launcher and I have a few NTSC games (I find they are cheaper to get than PAL for the more sought after titles).

so I'm going to attempt to fill it in with sharpie.

Wiggy, you know what to do.

I'm curious to see where this line of discussion is leading. I haven't taken the sharpie to it yet, so if someone has a better solution, I'm all ears.

$10 for Wario Land alone is quite worth it. It's not as great as the likes of Kirby's Return To Dream Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns, or New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but it's still a solid 2D platformer. It's pretty much Wario Land 4, but with some motion controls thrown in, such as an awesome ground punch move that can change the environment. It's actually made by the same people who made Kirby's Epic Yarn, another solid 2D platformer for the Wii.

Sort of an inside joke, as I used to use sharpies to "restore" the black portions of certain game cover art. Wiffy claims that it isn't a good method, but imo it's proven to be effective; Moreso on game cover art than, say, instruction manuals or strategy guides due to ink leaking.

It was £20 or £25 including the chip plus postage costs. Can't remember exactly he modded four systems at once for me and I paid for them all at once. Where in England are you?
