It always makes me wonder who decided/made the slang "hardcore gamers" or "serious gamers" only for Xbox and PS3 users
You would think just from the slang that its not about one system at all, or have anything to to with graphics or better games for that matter.
wouldn't it be more about the overall time spent playing games in general?
Hell in my opinion someone could be classified as a hardcore or serious gamer if they spent all their time on one single game even if it was say Color A Dinosaur. If they spent as much time playing that game as someone plays COD wouldn't they still be considered "serious" or "hardcore" just to a different game?
Maybe this is me grasping at straws considering I don't own a PS3 or Xbox but still consider myself a "Serious gamer" because I probably game more that a lot of other people I know who do have those systems. Even though its mostly on my SNES.

I own all 3 curent systems. I play my xbox 90%, PS3 3% games, 6% blu-ray, Wii 1%. Now yes I am a hard core game (40-60 hrs gaming a week). I have like 200 , x360 games, 20 PS3, and 40or 50 Wii!! I personally think the Wii is geared to the casual gamer. I think Nintendo came out and said this. I also only play Wii games that have very little to no motion controll. Motion gaming sucks and is just a gimmick and will not stick, just lie 3d gaming (it is already dead on PS3). That being said I love Nintendo games and the companybut just hate the Wii.
