Today we shall take a look at the darker part of the Wii's video game library, the very slim M-rated part. I know some of these games are available on other systems, but they are also available on the Wii too; which is what counts, and I also know that there are some E-T-rated games that are good for the Wii, but that's a topic for another day.

Wii was geared towards a younger / less mature titles market thats for sure. That said it did have its mature rated gems.

Honestly, people can deal with crappy graphic versions of call of duty etc, their online and friend code system is what sank them tho

Out of the 35 games in this thread, I'd only get these 11. I say this, because they look good and the series related ones interest me, the others are of no interest to me at all.

Honestly I never understood the concept of a system being kiddy just because it doesn't have "hardcore" games.  To me, just cause a game has an "M" rating doesn't mean it's gonna be a good game.  And I'm not saying anything against you Ace, I'm just saying that all the people who judge a system and it's games based on it's ratings aren't really gamers.  I will agree that Nintendo definitely targeted different groups of people with their games being more family friendly and didn't focus on a select group like MS and Sony did.  Not to say that it's what caused their downfall...what did cause their downfall is that I'm sure most people got so jaded by fanboys calling the system kiddy that they themselves believed that to be the case.  I love my Wii and the games on it, whether they're considered kiddy or not I still enjoy those just as much as I enjoy the "hardcore" games.

And the online....yeah, no kidding...it was horrible.  It took me like 15+ minutes to set up games of Mario Kart and Tetris Party with a friend...and if I wanted to play with more then 1 friend...forget it.  It almost didn't happen...we had to coordinate with each other by phone pretty much everything before we even turned on the system.

By the way you forgot Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayer!

Damn, knew I was missing something! I had the picture on my ImageShack and was putting all the others up in the thread and I must've missed or skipped over that one.

I mean...they are more mature games but that's not saying they are any good.  I could just as easily find some kiddy games for the 360 or PS3 and say those systems are for little kids.

Also, what's with the one Teen game?

He's not being negative, he's just stating his opinion....to be honest I do agree with him though.

And even you said that only 11 of those 36 interest you.

Anyway, the Wii isn't known for it's Mature games or even most of it's 3rd party games...Nintendo gets its fame and money from their own games (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby etc etc)

It's actually not the Wii's fault, it's the perception of Nintendo over the years. I mean when you think Nintendo you think of Mario, Kirby, Pikachu, Yoshi, etc which are cute characters, and it's the systems most kids grow up with.

And also the Wii was marketed as a family system, everyone from little three year olds to great great grandma can easily play the system easily so the perception from these so called hardcore gamers, actually lets call them what they are FANBOYS, is oh the Wii, is an underpowered kiddy system. Remember fanboys are stupid and have nothing better to do than rant and think their opinion matters, which it doesn't.

Most gamers are between the ages of 18 and 35 and most own a Wii but in tern, almost everyone owns a Wii so it's an "Everyone" Family System which is fine Nintendo wanted that. As a gamer, of course I'll play it, I'll also play a 360 and a PS3, why because each system offers something unique.

And it's not this generation of consoles, lets go back a few, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn & PlayStation, oh you own a Nintendo 64, you must be alittle kid, well yea, I was only born in 1990 and all the stuff marketed toward me was mostly on a Nintendo system.

Just because the market for Nintendo is for kids growing up, doesn't make it a lesser console. Infact those kids are now grown up and are STILL playing Mario and Zelda and Kirby and Goldeneye and Super Smash Brothers.

Nintendo will always have a place in my heart, because it just has games that I grew up with, if I want something different, I'll play another system, simple as that. Besides, most gamers are kids at heart anyway :)

I guess I did say I only like about a dozen of those M-rated games. I just thought he was dissing the only 11 of those that I'm getting; which is why I jumped to conclusions, I guess. Yeah you are right about Nintendo's fame being in their own franchises, but it's nice to see 3rd party games take the spotlight every once in awhile.

owning all three systems i play my ps3 the least, basically got it for console exclusives.i love my  wii and dont care if people call it a kiddy system.its true they get alot of the better m rated titles much later than the 360 /ps3 but it has plenty of original options, i guess  it gets a bad rep because of all the "shovelware" games developers put out for it , but the virtual console was the best idea ever just wish nintendo  released more games for it  at a faster pace as this point there is no reason that almost full libraries  of game consoles  shouldnt be release.

Its funny.  I own all 3 current gen systems and I think I played my Wii the least.  I got it at launch.  I just hate motion controls.

Same here...

PS3 = console exclusives only and maybe some misc games here and there for cheap
Wii = Also console exclusives but IMO it has a better selection and more franchises I enjoy
360 = Everything else...I play my Xbox the most of all 3 systems and any multi-plat game I'll get for xbox first.

But in terms of games...I have just as many Wii games as I do 360 games...with just a handful of ps3 games.

Anyway back on topic, I've played RE: Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles for just a bit to try and they were both a lot of fun.  When I really get into it I'll play it with the Wii Zapper lol
