I know Gamecube has the Symphonia Mint (I think) Green one that matched its system. There is also a Red Gundam one to also match the limited edition console.

For what it's worth, the Ascii SNES pad and Ascii stick were both officially licensed products and came in packaging that looked just like original SNES controllers.  They're built so well that it's all I use when I play my SNES anymore.  I think I've collected about 5 or 6 Ascii pads over the years thinking that I might need extras when other fail.  20 years later and they're still working like new.

Also, the SNES mini controller is slightly different.  The logo is no longer silk screened onto the face.  Instead there's a molded in graphic to save $$$.

For SNES there's also the Score Master. A Europe-only arcade stick made by Nintendo (and IMHO far better than the Super Advantage by ASCII).

Don't forget the Gamecube and N64 Hori Pads! Extremly nice pieces of hardware especially the vast superior N64 pad but also pretty hefty pricewise.

I actually own three different variations of the official SNES controller. As mentioned, the SNES Mini controller varies slightly, but another one I have varies even less, as the "L" and "R" on the shoulder buttons are not colored in. The back of all these controllers have a different number, too.

Ah, sorry to disappoint, Wiggy. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. It's only the mini controller that has a different number. The others both say SNS-005. While I was checking it out, though, I snapped a couple of pics of how they differ in other ways.

Wow, interesting... I'll update the first post so we can get a master list going.

I agree, the Hori controllers are awesome. I've been meaning to get one of their N64 mini controllers. I have their Super Game Boy and Gamecube Digital controllers, but are they official Nintendo controllers, or just 3rd party?

Like the ASCII stuff, I believe they're licensed by Nintendo, and we all know how picky Nintendo is about quality and whatnot. The quality is at least OEM on the Hori stuff.

Well that explains why they feel just like real Nintendo controllers!

I've started updating the first post with what you guys mentioned and some more I found. Still need to find a solid list of Gamecube controller variations.
