Does anyone have a game sequel they wish would come out, but it may never happen? It can be one that was announced and canned, or one that you wish would exist.
I've got two.
First, I'd love to see a proper sequel to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. There's nothing wrong with Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi series, but I would still love to see a Mario RPG with the same tone and interesting character designs as the original. It doesn't necessarily have to have the same villain, but it would be nice to revisit some of the characters and places, as well as new ones too. Whether it would be an actual sequel using the same isometric view and graphics, or perhaps a modern 3D RPG, I'd still love to see a proper sequel. Sadly, I don't see Square and Nintendo partnering anytime soon, outside of Fortune Street. I guess it also just bugs me that new Mario Kart games come out and the best new characters they can go with are Queen Bee, a female toad and Baby and Dry versions of everyone. How about Mallow, Geno, Booster, Shyster, Croco, etc....Obviously there are rights issues, but it seems like there's a wealth of great characters Nintendo doesn't use - and on a legitimate side note, why haven't they added Professor E. Gadd to Mario Kart?

Also, Banjo-Threeie. Not Nuts and Bolts. An actual platformer sequel. Banjo-Kazooie is one of my all-time favorites, and I loved all the collecting, searching and overall scale to the environments. I remember seeing that damn ice key and then accidentally finding Cheato near the end in a hard-to-reach place and getting really excited about all those hidden secrets to find. Plus those songs were fantastic, and are still stuck in my head to this day. If this was ever done, I'd prefer for them to return to the less stylized, more cartoony look of the original. Somehow the N&B redesigns made the characters all come across as less colorful and more....cynical or something. I know the characters always were snarky, but when they looked cartoony it was funnier to me. Of course this will probably never happen either, since Rare is not at all what it once was.

Also honorable mention would be Super Mario 64 2. I like Sunshine and the 2 Galaxy games a lot, but I always thought it would be cool to continue the style of 64 but on a larger scale, with bigger, more open worlds and more to find.
