All RPG's need to come from Japan and look like an anime to be part of the cult. ;D ;) --- End quote --- Is it bad that those type of rpg's are typically the ones I enjoy the most? Lol Not that there's anything bad with non-anime rpg's --- Quote from: wiggy ---I really hope it's not too much of a fad. I mean, I'm working towards starting a brand that caters to OG gaming, so I'd like it to stay "trendy" for at least a little while longer. --- End quote --- I think that retro gaming will always have it's fanbase and hardcore collectors. So there will always be a market for it. I just think that in time half these "collectors" will fade away and hopefully put the market in a more affordable state where things aren't over priced. |

--- Quote ---While there are those little snot-nosed brats on YouTube who are less than half as old as the games they're collecting, most of the retro game market is driven by nostalgic guys and gals in their 20's 30's and 40's who are looking to find something fun they used to do when they were kids. So in 5 years, N64 stuff will be considered retro and get pricey, in 10 years it'll be PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, etc, and in 15 years it'll be the 360, PS3, etc. --- End quote --- This is exactly what I'm banking on, and early indications have definitely led me to believe that I'm tappig into a growing market relatively early on, which can only help my case ;) |

It's a cool genre and I wish I had jumped on the bandwagon earlier! --- Quote from: wiggy on September 26, 2012, 06:23:42 PM ---This is exactly what I'm banking on, and early indications have definitely led me to believe that I'm tapping into a growing market relatively early on, which can only help my chase ;) --- End quote --- Yep, some of this N64, PS1, and PS2 stuff will start to go up pretty soon since that's the next wave. I'm pumped for the day when I can sell some $4 purchases for $40. ;D |

Along the same lines as wiggy's thinking, I always though if someone were to make custom gaming shelving/storage with the current trend might be good money. For example - Shelf capable of holding 300 games, but each shelf could be customized with labels per system or the entire unit entirely. |

If I had known then what I know now lol I would've got them then even without owning the system to play them on. But at least some are still cheap...they're the greatest hits versions but at this point i'm not paying triple that price for the black label ones. Hopefully some more will go onto the psn store and maybe drive down the price of the physical copies. PS2 isn't so bad just yet...there isn't as many over priced games except the .hack series and possibly Shin Megami Tensei games. But lesson learned...I'm stocking up now on the games I know I'll want before they become over priced especially with current gen systems. |
