SOTC and Tomb Raider are all I really care about.  I really wish these were cheaper though.  Even at 40 bucks, they're sort of a ripoff IMO.

I hope the Killzone collection is all three games physically in the package and not 2&3 and a voucher for 1 on PSN like the God of War Collection. Sony made a big mistake with that one in my opinion. I cancelled my preorder for that collection.
I tell you with complete honesty from what I was told by a GameStop employee earlier today over the phone, that all 3 Killzone games are on 1 disc. So no need to worry about what happened with the God of War Saga, and I agree that what they did with that collection was ridiculous!

Well, that is good to know that you heard that as well. My cousin who also works at Gamestop also told me the same thing, he texted me also as soon as he found out about the God of War Saga fiasco.

Fry's Electronics had the Ico/SotC collection going for $15.00 new recently, but it was in-store only sadly. I have seen the collection going for $20 new on ebay, much better than the $40 originally. I am unsure of the Tomb Raider collection price wise though.

I'm speaking to the original MSRP only.  Obviously used and new that's been sitting on shelves for a year+ are gonna be cheaper.  I know I got my SOTC for 15 bucks shipped on Amazon a few months back ;)

I got essentially that Tomb Raider collection on Steam for very little during one of their big sales.

... But that's Steam.

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

That's where I got the information from, Maben. ;D
I figured, just seemed like the thread was only rehashing this same information.

I'm not quite sure about silent hill, but I'm sure there are reasons for Metal Gear Solid being missing.  There's virtually no way to do an HD treatment on the original game, it's too dated and any attempt (short of completely remaking it) would look like crap.  It MAY have been possible to HD-ify Twin Snakes, but there's a good chance Nintendo still has exclusive rights there.  Obviously the Japanese got a download code for the original MGS, but I'd rather have Peace Walker anyhow.

I'll admit, my heart skipped a beat, when I found out that the Killzone Trilogy and Infamous Collection, were both on 1 disc each, respectively. What I wonder though is, why wasn't Killzone Liberation packaged in with the other 3 Killzone games? Maybe they didn't want another God of War fiasco, I guess. What I'd like to know is how they put 2 or 3 games in a series on 1 blu-ray disc.

Because the discs can be dual layered up to 50GB.  The newer BDXL discs can do 100 or 128 GB, but I'm not sure if the PS3 is compatible or if game developers would even go this route.

Most PS3 games aren't region locked so I'd say they can count at least on a non-region specific master list lol

Exactly.  Both Silent Hill 1 and Metal Gear Solid 1 are PS1 games.  There is just no way to HD them without a complete remake, and Nintendo does indeed own the exclusitivity for Twin Snakes.  Konami was able to use a loophole in order to use the Twin Snakes audio in MGS4, but nothing else.  They could have used a code, but then it'd almost be false marketing, because people would assume that everything in the case is HD.

In the case of the God of War Saga collection, I don't get the hate.  Yes, the PSP games are downloads, yes, I try to avoid download only things as best as I can.  However, the only other option is to add a second Blu-ray disc to the package, raising the cost.  God of War III itself is over 32GB, as reported by Santa Monica, and God of War 1 and 2 both came on dual-layer DVDs, indicating that they are over 4.7GB as well.  A look at sites of dubious legality gives a size of 18.57GB for the God of War Collection, 9.11 GB for Ghost of Sparta, and 7.37 GB for Chains of Olympus.

And honestly, if you have to have them on disc, like myself, there is a perfectly good collection disc already available...

I don't think it's hate persay, just how they went about releasing it.  A 3rd disc really shouldn't have been much of an issue especially since the Killzone hd release is suppossedly 3 discs.  I mean 20 gigs in the grand scope of things really isn't much but for people with slow connections, monthly caps or even no internet connection on their ps3, they'll think twice about d/ling them.  Also the voucher is only mentioned in some fine print that's easily overlooked and if it was me I'd feel a bit deceived since it does say 5 games and nothing about d/l vouchers on the front.

Granted I already have each game individually so the Collection doesn't interest me in one bit but if a person does want to have all the discs they either have to buy them seperate (which may or may not be more then the collection) or buy the collection and then the standalone psp disc and sell the vouchers.

oh i know they wouldnt be "HD" but still omiting them makes the collection kinda pointless if you never played the series ,

Dude, we have been telling alot of people on this thread, that the Killzone Trilogy is all on 1 disc, not 3. You weren't paying any attention then I guess.
