--- Quote from: wiggy on September 15, 2012, 05:47:10 PM ---I would hunt down a US system that won't load games, and then just swap the gutty-wuts minus the laser assembly. Freeloader is great, but screw playing the swap game. That was ok in 2003, but not in 2012. --- End quote --- Alex approves like I said, modchip...its much less of a pain in the ass in the long run. Besides, Region locking is an outdated concept (YOU HEAR ME, Sony and Nintendo?), and the chip eliminates that. I really wouldn't mind having a Spice colored gamecube with a chip....and a Gamecube component cable. |

The circuit boards are identical in US and JAP cubes EXCEPT FOR ONE SPOT. I don't remember which way it was but on the cicuit boads there is two solder points. If they are bridged NGC plays US games, if the spot is unbridged it plays jAP games. Or other way around. Solder on/off switch there and you can switch between the 2 regions. Adding PAL to this impossible I think. Edit: See this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2001/11/08/how-to-modify-your-gamecube And this: http://www.gamesx.com/importmod/ngcmod.htm |
