What is this I don't even...

Collecting to me means that it is going into my collection and I have little to no interest in parting with it anytime soon.  For example, if I bought a lot of 20 games, kept 7 of them, and sold/traded 13 of them, I only added 7 games to my collection.  I don't consider the other 13 to have been "collected" by me.  You are using more of the #1 definition:
1. To bring together in a group or mass; gather.

I am using more like #2:
2. To accumulate as a hobby or for study.

Do not agree (which is rare with you).  A lot of times people buy to flip.  I do so on rare occasion as well.

If that were the case, then I collect food, garbage bags, toilet paper, dishsoap, etc...
Ace Master Cire:
What I Collect

1. Video Games (Wii, PS3, PSP, DS, GBA, Gamecube, PS2, GBC, N64, PS1; I might consider Dreamcast games, but not any form of Xbox games, and especially not the WiiU, PSVita or 3DS games. I'm not quite sure about PC gaming, just yet, because I have a Mac right now.)

2. Game Systems (Kinda obvious, because you can't play the games without the systems. The ones I own are: Gamecube, PS2 (To play my PS1, and PS2 games on), GBA (x2) and GBA SP (both for backwards compatibility with GB and GBC games, as well as playing my GBa games), Nintendo DSi XL (for Internet connection on the go and my DS games. I might invest in a DS lite on of these days), and PSP 3000 (To replace but busted up PSP 1000, and to play my PSP games on.). I might consider getting a Dreamcast, but not any form of Xbox console (never liked them), and especially not the WiiU, PSVita or 3DS systems; because they're where Nintendo and Sony went downhill with consoles in my opinion. I might get a PC for gaming purposes, because I have a Mac right now and can't play shit on it.)

3. CD's of bands I listen to on my CD player (3 Doors Down, AC/DC, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Evanescence, Godsmack, Guns N' Roses, Linkin Park, Metallica, Nickelback, Papa Roach and Rob Zombie. I also listen to all country, but I only listen to that on the radio or my sister's iPods.)

4. Movies (Don't have many at the moment, but it's getting there.)
5. Regular Books, Strategy Guides, and Cheat Code Books
6. Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (I know some people think it's childish and stupid; and I really could care less what they think, but people pay just as much for these as they do for vintage game systems and vintage games. Believe me, I've done my fair share of research on this.)

lol, I have a bunch of those...actually all I really have is the original yu-gi and seto kaiba box sets that came out when the show first aired.  the feature card of each deck was the dark magician for yu-gi's deck and the dragon with the long name in kaiba's deck.  They're all practically in perfect condition in the middle of one of my drawers.

I remember giving them to my ex-girlfriend since she worked with kids that played yu-gi (she got the cards so she could play and interact with them better) and she told me she felt bad about taking them cause the kids told her how "valuable" they were...so she was scared of ruining them or getting them stolen.  So she got a little picture binder and put the cards in there.

DS, 3DS (Never got into one and I prefer classic handhelds)
NES (Don't have one. simple as that)
Anything pre-NES (same as above, plus lack of quality games... crash of '83 proves this.)

I stayed away from the DS/3DS until recently. I didn't like the SD looking game cards mostly.
Me and my GF both got a 3DS and I'm pretty happy with the RPG selection.
Of coarse a week after I buy, 3DS XL was announced -__-

I just need a GBA micro to complete my GB console collection though ;P

wait wait wait, yu-gi-oh cards are collectable now? damn it. I passed up a binder of them at a yard sale a while back. bah.
I have a huge binder of my old pokemon cards, but I think they're pretty much worthless at this point.
Wish I still had my original yu-gi-oh cards. been playing one of the GBA yu-gi-oh games on my lunch breaks lately lol
