SNES - A good deal?
wiggy:
Sounds like a plan. I've been doing quite a few lately and I'm all stocked up on parts too ;)

i feel like it is too much. practically this person is selling you the games. the console might be worth around 30 dllrs if it is in excellent condition, great working and NOT YELLOW (including chords and controllers). in this case, substract what he is asking for the games and see what he wants for the console: 22 dllrs. by the looks, i think its great, but seems likewhat he really wants to use to get the price high is the games. are they really worth it?
58 dllrs in games. the prices look fine, except for SMW: 15 is too much, i would pay form 1 to 7 dllrs.
i recommend you this offer if you like these games. i woulnt do that since i only like SMW, Mario kart and SF2. that means i would pay at much 60 dllrs for it without sim city or star wars.
pricing both at 10 like he did and putting the difference on SMW was not a good strategy.

It's SOOOOO easy to mod a model 2 for S-vid and it has the BEST S-vid output, hands down. NOBODY that has half a clue will contest that. Totally worth it IMO. It's even super easy to add a power indicator light, since that's really the only other feature that's missing (well, the eject button, but that doesn't matter at all).
Look for broken units. I've purchased 3 "broken" SNES jr systems and ALL of them worked either right out of the box or with a mild cleaning. It's really hard to properly break them. Even a bubble bath won't do it (as long as it's not plugged in while receiving said soothing bath :P). I paid 10 shipped for one of them and it's come a long way to where it is today ;)
SNES jr - $10
Custom machined SNS-101 shell - $XXX (WAY closer to 1K than 100)
Having a mini SNES that's completely unique (for now at least) - Priceless!
Didn't even require a cleaning. Was missing 2 of the screws that held the shell together. I think the guy tried taking it apart with something other than a gamebit as the bottom half of the shell was sorta chewed up a little bit. Don't know why he was trying to do so. Maybe he was trying to do and SFC mod?

Model 2 originally didn't have an on light and it only has the a/v cable hookup. The console is just smaller.
If you want shoot me a pm if you want it or pictures.

SNES phat units are really spotty when it comes to both composite and S-vid output. The board revision that you have will GREATLY affect the output quality. For instance, my launch SNES (with the big-ass audio chipset on the back of the board) has really miserable S-vid output. The SNES mini composite out actually looks as good as, if not better than the launch console's S-vid output :o
The last couple of revisions are markedly better, but none are quite as good as the mini (when modded).

"SOOOOO easy" is not what I would use to describe any mod that requires soldering. In fact, I've done two different RRoD repairs now on my 360 and I'm still not sure I'm comfortable venturing into soldering. I suppose it's probably not that hard, but I'd need to go get a solder gun....and solder...and you know...do it.
Palmer: shot you a PM
