The model 2 doesn't support S-Video though, right? I think it has one or two other limitations if I recall correctly.
It's SOOOOO easy to mod a model 2 for S-vid and it has the BEST S-vid output, hands down. NOBODY that has half a clue will contest that. Totally worth it IMO. It's even super easy to add a power indicator light, since that's really the only other feature that's missing (well, the eject button, but that doesn't matter at all).
Look for broken units. I've purchased 3 "broken" SNES jr systems and ALL of them worked either right out of the box or with a mild cleaning. It's really hard to properly break them. Even a bubble bath won't do it (as long as it's not plugged in while receiving said soothing bath

). I paid 10 shipped for one of them and it's come a long way to where it is today

SNES jr - $10
Custom machined SNS-101 shell - $XXX (WAY closer to 1K than 100)
Having a mini SNES that's completely unique (for now at least) - Priceless!Didn't even require a cleaning. Was missing 2 of the screws that held the shell together. I think the guy tried taking it apart with something other than a gamebit as the bottom half of the shell was sorta chewed up a little bit. Don't know why he was trying to do so. Maybe he was trying to do and SFC mod?
Ya, model 1 is alot better to me. (original unmodded)
Model 2 originally didn't have an on light and it only has the a/v cable hookup. The console is just smaller.
If you want shoot me a pm if you want it or pictures.
SNES phat units are really spotty when it comes to both composite and S-vid output. The board revision that you have will GREATLY affect the output quality. For instance, my launch SNES (with the big-ass audio chipset on the back of the board) has really miserable S-vid output. The SNES mini
composite out actually looks as good as, if not better than the launch console's
S-vid output

The last couple of revisions are markedly better, but none are quite as good as the mini (when modded).
