Ok who agrees with me here?

Dr. Wily's theme from Mega Man (and other Mega Man songs) - Metal (Your thoughts Forte?)
Most Squaresoft/Square-Enix's RPGs music - Metal
Most games battle music - Metal
Boss music - Metal
Drive Fast music - Metal
And most importantly, about 85% of castlevania music - Metal

Sure, you can listen to whatever you want while you play, but when you write down the songs in these games, they end up being metal, or a form of hard rock. Sometimes they tend to be just a jumbled up mess like the dungeon music for super Mario bros.

There might be some who agree with me, then there will be haters too. But I would like to hear your thoughts.

Ya my band and I often do little medleys from many old games to pass the time durring breaks of playing our sets.

The turrican games were awesome examples of this

I have not played these... I shall now that you say something about it. Thanks!  ;D

(Edit) Just so I could get an idea, I listend to the themes on youtube. Turrican 1 sounds pretty sweet, I think I'll will remake it. May take a while though. But with real instruments it will kick ass!

I looked them up. Wasn't really that impressed. Music was ok on some songs, vocals sucked.
No offense to what you like, I've just heard way better covers.

Really good. But I think that's another one I'm going to have to redo because I havnt found one That quite fits the way it should sound in my opinion.

When I get Turrican done I'll start on Mega Man!

None of the songs of theirs that I like have vocals, and, don't worry, it's not like they are my favorite band or anything.

Good, dont want to make anyone upset because our tastes don't match very well.
Ya, if I ever get a good camera I'll try to record a good video of some of my music.
I got some of my bands music up, but I mean just covers and stuff.

Sounds like some black metal to me ha ha.

This is some of our early songs, more of a hardcore vibe.

(Edit) Ok so Turrican is going to be a pain in the butt. Its seriously out of tune. all the notes are like non existant in between fret notes!!!

This will turn out interesting.

You must not have heard much black metal.  Death metal = low pitch.  Black metal = high pitch.  Leaving myself out of the equation, here are a few "textbook" definitions:

Death metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNhN6lT-y5U
Black metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGikqZUemV4
and, while I'm at it:
Hardcore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NctzNLw_5E&feature=related
Crust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9axVj_mhX1c&feature=related
         & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttxfhaw8t50 (<-- This one is mandatory)
Grindcore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_CG6TH4zWk&feature=related
Thrash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9ORDncKKkI (a newer song, but one of the original bands)

Everything else gets to be a mix of those things these days - hell, even grind was a mix of hardcore, death metal, and crust.

The only thing that would in any way tie your music to hardcore (at least, in my 30+ year schooled opinion) are the vocals, which are great.  The rest of it owes more to thrash, and that isn't a bad thing.  It's well put together, but I could do without the drum machine.  Friendly piece of industry advice (to qualify all my statements about that, let me show you this - I've paid my dues) - unless you play live with a drum machine, I'd put the words "preproduction demo" in the video title - it'll bring you more cred, especially when you are shopping for label, studio, or producer.  It's one of those tiny perceptive tweaks that goes a long, long way.

Sorry to have gone off on a tirade about genres, but, it's just a pet peeve of mine when things get mislabeled.  Besides, a metal band with a good hardcore singer is hard to come by these days - wear it with honor.  You guys are on the path.
