Hey guys,

I just won a Super Famicom on eBay for a very low price. It's coming with 2 controllers and no AV or AC cables, hence the reason for the super cheap price.

Being I live in the US I was wondering if anyone had an idea if I have to get a AC adaptor from Japan or will the US one work.

Also I had hear the US AV cable will work on the SFC but I wanted to ask you guys here first.

Another question I had was 1 of the controllers is an official OEM nintendo made SFC Controller while the 2nd one looks like the 1st one but has "sharp sf 1" written on it .... And not nintendo ? Anyone have a clue as to why it would say that???

Last but not lest, what are some good exclusive SFC games I should be looking at? I had heard about that Donald Duck game being cool but why and what are some other games to check out?

Thanks for all the help and happy gaming!!!!

The US A/V cable will work just fine. I'm almost positive that a TurboGrafx or Genesis 1 adapter will work. I'll double check when I get home. I think I use a TG-16 adapter myself as I got my SFC in a similar manner.

Um, you don't want that controller. Better send it my way so I can properly dispose of it for ya.

But seriously, that's a pretty cool find. It comes from a TV/SFC combo unit (like an SFC shoved into a TV).  Not super duper rare, but rare enough to be pretty dang cool IMO.

As far as exclusives go, I can't recall many off the top of my head. I just picked up Mario & Wario and Super Genjin 2 (Suoer Bonk 2) for the SFC.  Both are exclusives.  Again, I'll look at stuff when I get home and see if there are any others in my collection that are exclusives.

just remembered Bomberman 3, 4, & 5 too.

Excuse me, but  Super Bomberman 3 was releaed officially in Europe too.

I know that because GameFaqs says so... And I own 2 copies: One loose copy and one CIB copy with Eng/Ger/Fra manual.

Some SuFami exclusives I'd recommend off the top of my head:

Spider-Man: Lethal Foes (platformer/beat'em up)
Parodius series (shmup, first game was released also in Europe)
Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie (shmup)
Bahamut Lagoon (tactical RPG)
Clock Tower (adventure/horror)
Fushigi no Dungeon 2 (dungeon crawler)
Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen (fighter)
Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (fighter)
Magical Pop'n (platformer)
Wonder Project J (point and click)
Rockman & Forte (do I even need to say?)
Tales of Phantasia (RPG)
Star Ocean (RPG)
Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss (why was that never released outside Japan?)

I think yes, though I can't remember for sure. But there's nothing to translate in that game. It's Tetris! There's no "story mode" so to say.

Just checked Youtube review and indeed it's 100% English.

This led me to buy (All CIB Japanese):

- Super Bombliss
- Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss
- Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss Limited Edition
- Super Tetris 3
- Tetris Battle Gaiden
- Panel de Pon

And just for the f*** of it:
- Front Mission Gun Hazard

Thanks for all the info, it really helps out.

Where (other then eBay) did you guys get your SFC games? Sometimes eBay prices can be crazy.

No problem!

I buy almost exclusively form these 3 ebay stores:

Game Agora

Hit-Japan

Yamatoku-Classic

All of these guys offer excellent combined shipping options, are really good about answering questions and allowing you to buy one thing, then wait 3, 4, 5, up to 14 dayss for a couple of them before you complete the transaction in order to get as many items bundled into one package as possible ;D
