--- Quote from: Doom on May 04, 2009, 04:54:35 PM ---The difference is one was made my Microsoft and the others were made by a talented artist not affiliated with a console. The Fable 2/Halo 3 combo is a "real" cover for a "real" compilation. (See: Pac-Man World 2 player's choice, Metroid Prime + MP2 bonus disc, etc.) --- End quote --- Sounds kind of arbitrary to me, but that's the last I'll say on it. It's not my site and I don't care enough to make a bigger deal out of it. |

Seems like we all have the same stance on the piracy issue, so that's a good grounding at least. Pretty much all my consoles are modded to play backups/homebrew/whatever - but mostly for playing imports. Anything i have that isn't retail doesn't get any space on my shelf, just sits in a binder - and if it's good enough for me to play it, then i'll buy it. As i said above - i don't mind either way what the decision is as regards to these multi covers - i just wanted to make it clear that they are NOT for iso's. |

I'm actually all for cutsom cases for series! It's also a good way to save space. I mean we have the TCP side projects" where AppleQueso and Lumberjack42 reimagined the cases for the Resident Evil and Zelda games to have a uniform design for the entire series. Making a single case for lets say Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes or the Prince of Persia trilogy is the same thing just with another approach. I'm with Shenske on this one and would even 1-up it :) If someone wanted to make a single case custom cover for lets say the Splinter Cell quadrilogy or the Sly Raccoon trilogy or any other game that had sequels, I'd say do it. And I wouldn't think a minute about hosting it to be honest. There are DVD cases in all kinds of sizes, and if someone feels like doing a cover the Splinter Cell games and put them all in one 4-disc DVD case then be my guest. Doom said --- Quote ---If I was making the call, the custom trilogies/double packs where no official cover was ever made for any region would not be hosted on TCP because they never existed. --- End quote --- In this case I'd object. If the games exist (I'm talking retail here ;) ) and someone wants to have them all in one case and makes a cover then it should be fine, consequently a NTSC Prince Of Persia trilogy custom cover should be allowed. But as Shenske said before, there mustn't be any indication that its purpose is to house ISOs or ROMS. This would solely be meant as an alternative way of storage. As for the homebrew covers, we should handle it like we did before or as Doom suggested. The artist can store them on a box.net account or elsewhere and link to them or share them via PM but they won't be hosted. That's my take on it. |

Homebrew + unofficial stuff = NO Everything released in any form or developed at least = YES |

The issue is resolved. You can download Viewtiful Joe Compilation and Metroid Prime Compilation from The Cover Project. I love the 3D versions of the covers (from IMANDIX, I'm guessing) that you worked in. ;) |
