Retro Duo
Dr.Agon:
no need to buy a NTSC snes, (except of course to support wiggy, in the hope he'll do something even more awesome!), pal snes can be easily modded to play JAP./US games

although the guide says US mario RPG doesnt work my copy does, so...
of course i would say mod it, its a bit of an obsession of mine!
lcvolt:
i think the better one is the retron 3 console. it plays nes, snes, and genesis games. it comes with inalambric controllers, but sadly they are made like genesis controllers. it would be nice, but there are no shoulder buttons, which makes snes games with the use of those ones really bad. it is compatible with nes snes and genesis controllers whatsoever, and it comes in a pretty good looking red color (unless you buy the ugly grey one). i have only seen it on the internet, and some retro game stores (overpriced though), so i dont know whether it is good or not. it has a n s video output, which makes it better so you can play it on your standard LCD TV. the s video only works for snes and genesis. im not sure about the nes, maybe it works but doesn't look as good as the others. after all, HD 8 bit graphics are not really amusing
Moviefan2k4:
I bought a Retro Duo for my mother about 3 years ago; it worked for a couple of months, then started having problems. The NES carts had to be positioned just right, or they wouldn't load at all, and the controllers didn't respond accurately at all. That's why I don't use cloned systems anymore; refurbished originals all the way.
sheep2001:
Oh well, I've bought it now.
The reason I don't want to mod my uk snes for NTSC is that the cart door needs to be widened, making it ugly and it will fill with dust. I may get it modded, and just use it for pal/NTSC j, as I currently don't have any NTSC u carts. Although I was reminded yesterday of a game that I loved as a kid and only got a US release, SOS. The one where you are trapped on a sinking cruise ship and you have to rescue people and escape.
Blueprint:
not a fan of retro repro consoles they always break, at least the last one i had.
hope yours work well...
