I love the soft mod!

Ah, ok lol, mine was hard modded way before I softmodded also, but once I softmodded I decided that USB loading was just easier (well...with some exceptions depending on the game).  I still create a few back up discs here and there of games that I really like but I store them away with the originals.

I have a launch Wii System and i bought Smash Brothers day one and i personally haven't had any issues with it. Maybe its just luck of the draw  :-\

But I do have a friend who ran into the Dual Layer issue eventually, and had to send his Wii in to Nintendo.

I have an extra Metroid Prime Trilogy Manual as well as the black sleeve thing inside that opens up (looks like an art book to me).  I really don't know what kind of price I would place on it, but I'm not just giving it away either =\
