Just a FYI, the game was a Nintendo Select title since last August, so it's been $20 or less since then.

So, your doubting 2 very good friends of mine that I've known most of my life, just because they gave me Super Mario Galaxy, complete in the box, for free? Not to mention cases for Colosseum and Phantom Hourglass, that I was desperately looking for. Also, I knew that Super Mario Galaxy is now a Nintendo Selects title, but I'm not looking for Nintendo Selects, because there isn't much to choose from those, and alot of the games in that category are not to my liking.

FFS -  he's not doubting you got it,  it was a statement that the galaxy games are so good, why would someone give them away.   Stop being so defensive all the time.  Nobody here is out to get you!

madrocsz:

See I thought of it totally different, women don't just give guys mario games unless their is more too it.  She hot?, cuz she wants your weiner . Then again, you refer to her as your "girl gamer friend" either you or she have been friendzoned

Also, Mario Galaxy complete in box makes me lulz, I would hope a few year old disc based game for (at least until november 18th) current gen system is complete in its case.

Nintendo selects are worse than PS3 greatest hits, had to go ugly up the cases lol

Anyways, dont take any offense to my ramblings, just trying to lighten the mood  ;D

Ace Master Cire:

@sheep2001: I realize that now, man. The thing is, I don't always know when people are joking around or not; in addition to other things I can't remember right now, because of my rare birth defect called: Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum; which is sometimes confused with Asperger's Syndrome, which I also have.

@AO007: I've seen that list before and know there's only like 10 Nintendo Selects games. Out of those, I'd probably only get Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Twilight Princess (to play the opposite to my Gamecube version), and Wii Sports (to have it in a case); which would total up to 3 games. The problem is, I like to have variant labels of games (Greatest Hits, Player's Choice, etc.) to be in multiples of 5 and besides that, I'm a series person and quite a few of these are in series's I'm either just not interested in or can't get the full series, because of either high pricing, rarity or constraint on my systems list, like a specific number of games.

@madcroscz: Both of them are friends of mine. And yes I thought they were hot at one time, but they're both sort of family now (they are 13 and 17), because their aunt married my uncle, so we're related to an extent. Nintendo Selects don't look that bad, it's actually a bit more creative then the Player's Choice labels were, and Greatest Hits got even more creative with PS3, thanks to the red boxes. I think I might do that for my PS2 Greatest Hits games.

--- Quote from: redsox2012 on September 23, 2012, 12:03:07 AM ---I've been looking for a good 27+ inch TV to connect my retro systems to.  Last night on my way home from work I saw a large TV on someone's lawn near the curb.  I didn't want to take it because there were lights on in the house and cars in the driveway.  I was 99% sure it was being thrown away because I've found numerous TV's around town placed near the curb for trash pickup.  So, I figured I'd wait until morning and go back just on the off chance that the TV was in the process of being loaded into one of the cars and wasn't really being thrown away.  When I went back this morning, it was still there. It was covered with dew, which pretty much confirmed that it was being thrown away as nobody would leave a TV outside all night long to get wet.  As I was looking at it, someone came outside from the house and confirmed it was being thrown away, although she knew nothing about it's condition.

When I plugged it in, there was a loud crackling sound from the speakers, and the picture fluttered.  I didn't know if the TV was already defective (and that's why it was being discarded), or if the wetness caused it.  So, I left it out in the sun all day to dry.  Sure enough, when I tried it later, it worked perfectly.  I was even more surprised when I saw that it was a 32 inch HD CRT TV.  I was just hoping it had an s-video input, but I really hit the jackpot with it being 1080i HD as well.  You just don't see many HD tube TV's around anymore because flat panels took over shortly after these were introduced.

The thing was heavy as hell, and took forever to move, but I can't wait to hook up my Saturn, NES, and Genesis to it.  My NES has been hooked up to a 20 incher for a while now, and my Saturn is currently connected to my 46 inch HDTV.  Unfortunately, the Saturn looks like crap on the HDTV because it doesn't have an s-video input, and 480i composite simply doesn't look good on a 1080p flat panel.  The new CRT can display the Saturn via s-video at native 480i for the best possible picture.

By the way, does anybody know why I keep seeing an error message when I try to add pictures to my posts?  It says something like "can't access attachment path".  The pics are pretty small, less than 50KB.  I've tried to add pictures to my last couple "finds" posts, but I've had no success.

Nice!  I'm a big TV picker myself, so I can totally appreciate a find like that ;)
