I'm having a hard time playing it.  I don't know if it's the SS or the TV or how close I'm sitting to it.  The fire button isn't very responsive.  It works sometimes and not others :-\  I even did a voltage check on the batteries to rule them out as a problem.  Gotta do some more diagnosing.  Prolly hook it up to that 27" that I bought the day before.  I've actually have the same TV upstairs and I KNOW that it works perfectly with it.  That will eliminate the concern over whether it's the TV or not.

I'm a little less happy with the purchase than I was originally.  The issues with the deformed picture really bug me.  But there's no way in hell that I'm moving that thing anywhere else at the moment.  Took 3 of us to just slide the damned thing down the stairs.  Picking it up and carrying it was absolutely NOT an option.  This thing must weigh in at over 100lb. :(  I guess I better get used to it.

Honestly, I bought it almost exclusively to play light gun games, so I can't complain too much.  It's big enough that a friend and I can very comfortably sit back and blast away at it ;D

No, it's 60, just like most everything here.  I'm guessing that it spent too much time sitting next to a speaker.

Also, it weighs 240+ lbs  :o  No wonder it almost killed us!

Glad to hear that the Super Scope (usually) works fine on that style of TV. I've been thinking of replacing my 23 year old TV. It's been a workhorse and old Nintendo games look absolutely fantastic on it, but lately the picture has started to dip down below the borders of the screen. Maybe someone around here might know how to resolve an issue like that?

Light gun games should work on any standard def TV, regardless of whether or not it's a tube or otherwise.  And the inverse is true as well (won't work on ANY high def TV).

Wiggy be careful with those tube tvs. We had an hd Sony Wega for awhile and one of the tubes went out, and it was going to be like $500 to fix it. We just bought a new tv. That was in Fall 2009 though.  ;D

If the tube goes, then it's gonna go in the trash.  I'm not worried about it.  It wasn't like I spend a fortune on it like the stupid LCD upstairs that required 5 new CAPs after only 2 years of use  >:(

Samsung?  ;)

I'm about to replace caps on one of mine....
I'm looking for vol. 2, 4, and 5 of the Orchestral Game Music Concert CDs. I'll pay well if it's authentic and doesn't skip. :)

You know it!

Bastards! I put some seriously beefy caps in there.  They better last the rest of the life of the TV.

If you have the $40, I'd go for it. Even if you're not fully satisfied, you'll be able to make you rmoney back and then some after a few months... unless it gets a reprint.

Well, I managed to get into the service menu and make some adjustments. Still not perfect, but a lot better. For sone reason the picture is heavily justified to the left of the screen and I have the H position pushed all the way to the right :-\
