Sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers.  Sort of a double edged sword IMO.  Pretty much keeps me from selling more than once a or twice a year :/

With that said, I'm not going to leave negative feedback.  Like I said, I got pretty much what I expected.

Very true, almost forgot about that!

I really didn't mean for people to leave negative feedback, just an honest opinion of the product is all.

I've been lurking on TCP for quite some time now. After reading through this thread I had to chime in:

I might suggest that people purchase a few of these cases on eBay from them. Then leave genuine feedback about the quality of their product. Maybe mention the TCP in the review? I think that would get the point across if enough people did that. It might also garner some negative feedback to your eBay account, so do so with caution.

Anyways what I really wanted to do was to say thanks for all the hard work! The TCP community is awesome  ;D
I like your touch of evil but we have class around here  8)

Apparently I'm sick in the head and have more money than I know what to do with!

Well, feel free to share (the money, not mental illness.  That is, unless your mental illness is funny, in which case, feel free to share all you want!).

Also, welcome!   Feel free to hit up our intro thread up top ;)

http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.co/MCO-401995152-cajas-universales-para-juegos-_JM this is in Colombia!

If I undestand correctly he is selling UGCs and as additional service also the cover printing. He is not selling the covers themselves, right?

How much are the prices in US dollars?

Just checked

Single case = 2500 COP = 1.37 USD
Single Print = 4000 COP = 2.2 USD
Single case + print = 6500 COP = 3.6 USD
70 cases = 160 000 COP = 88 USD.

That's sorta tricky if you ask me. If you're selling them at any profit, then you're selling the covers and possibly the servie IMO. It's like when people on eBay say crap like "bid on my Mario Kart game and I will throw in a free gift of a pair of socks!"  It can't really be considered free if it's bundled in with the price, regardless of how you word it.

The part
"Tambien esta el SERVICIO PARA IMPRIMIR LAS CARATULAS de tus juegos favoritos, valen $4.000 C/u y se imprimen en una impresora laser industrial (Full color) para darle acabados mas finos y delicados que otras impresoras. Adicionalmente, la impresion se hace sobre un papel especial para evitar que se daƱe facilmente."

Translates as "also available printing service for the covers of your favorite games, they cost $2.2 USD/each printed with an industrial laser printer (full color) for more delicate and detailed finishes than other printers. Additionally , the print is made on a special paper to avoid easy/common wear"

So yes, what he's basically selling are UGC's, not the prints themselves.

I sent a massage to budgetgamecases.com on YouTube. His prices were lower than GCW and his site advertised and credited the Cover Project a lot in the About pages. I brought up the idea of some of his profits going to buying boxes to scan, and about the $7 case price, which shipping is included. Here is the PM I got in response

Quote
I registered on that site two months ago, and never got an activation notice. I wasn't upset, and I still am not, as I realize there's a backlog.

I have absolutely no issue with working with TCP - if it isn't obvious, I love what's being done there. I go to great lengths to make sure that the money I'm making is from the service of assembling cases, not the artwork itself, no matter where the cover came from.

If you look on my site, you'll see that I have created a few covers - now, they are not up to standard (I have updated some of them with better screenshots, for example - Rolling Thunder).

I would love to be a part of the community and contribute. Being a parter of sorts with TCP would be great - I scan the forums almost daily, to ake sure I'm not ruffling feathers.

As for buying boxes, That's something I definitely want to do.

Here's the thing: I have sold a TOTAL of eight cases. TOTAL. OF. EIGHT. I ship promarily Priority, My profit per case ends up being maybe $3 or so for singles. Yes, all my prices include shipping, and I actually lower the price for higher orders - anything over 20 is $5 a piece, and over 50 is $4/pc - shipped.

I'm not looking to make a living off of this - there's not a big enough market yo do that, anyway. I just wanted there to be an alternative to GCW that was flexible, loyal to the community, and understands that collecting is a labor of love, not a money pit.

^^^ Sounds like a decent fellow.

If he's charging to print them, then he's charging for them, regardless of how he words it.  I mean, I don't really care, but I could just as easily say that I'll ship you a free PS3 and all that you'd pay is a $300 handling charge.

It can't be free unless it is 100% free.  The same goes for all that infomercial crap.  "FREE set of knives with the juicer!"  No, they've just priced it so that they make money on the transaction, period.   Free is a bullshit term in sales.  It means nothing and it's sole purpose is to attract suckers.

Now if he was doing it at zero profit, then we'd have a slightly different situation...

So.. if only I had the ORIGINAL post from them... oh wait!  Thanks Wiggy!

Go look at her pathetic blog.  Wait, I'll just post it...

A hostile, jealous member of their forum (who apparently has a small clique of followers) scanned in and redistributed the original artwork

So re-reading their blog, I noticed something missing.  Oh whatever could it be?

Now we can't even email them because we called their bluff =(

What I meant is if it's purely print service = customer sends the image to be printed -> then it's OK. If that is not OK then printing at Kinkos or other such place is wrong too, right? ;)
