bacteria is a pretty talented modder, but his finished products always lack that "polished" look that some of his contemporaries strive towards. he has a tendency to use really shitty paint and everything just looks very handmade (and not in a good way). BUT, i will say, he's VERY creative, and he does a lot of really cool shit, and obviously knows what he is doing on the technical side of things. i just think he settles for "good enough" when it comes to the way some of his mods look. |

Theres no perfect solution. There's pros and cons with everything. |

One thing I don't get is that alot of these portable NES / SNES systems can't match the polish level of something that is super old tech. Most of them can't even make a good d-pad. I realize that they are trying to cut costs but they need to realize that their target market would be people like most on this site who played this stuff when they were younger. We now have jobs and can afford something good. I'd gladly pay $200 - $250 for portable SNES with the build quality of a DSi XL (Haven't held a 3DS yet) or better. Make something with a good, big screen and buttons and dpad that match the original SNES feel and make it 100% compatible and I'll buy it. |

I got one for christmas, and it worked great at first, except for the annoying high-pitched whining noise coming from the speakers. After about 2 days a horizontal line of pixels on the screen died, so I sent it in for a replacement, noting both problems. Customer service was nice and I got a new one shortly. This one has much less of a whine, though I think the screen doesn't seem quite as clear as my first one. As a system it's okay, but it certainly doesn't replace my SNES. I haven't used it much at all lately, because it's still clunky and a little uncomfortable to hold. I've been very tempted to pick up a RetroDuo Portable however, after Satoshi_Matrix's thorough positive review. |

The RDP has it's problems too though. You just need to know what you're getting into. |
