Anyone own a Hyperkin Supaboy hand held SNES?!
satoshi_matrix:
I've got one.
Here's a detailed video review of it. It's kinda what I do.

1) the black tape around the edge of the whole thing and the fact that he straight up says that the power button doesn't always work and
2) This.
If you're interested, I can make similar portables with N64 or SNES or NES systems; £400-£430 depending on spec, plus postage, UK £15, non-UK £30. If you want NTSC, you'll need to provide suitable working screen and console; if a screen/console fries in the portable making process, you'll need to provide an extra unit.
Seriously?! That's a load of crap. He's already charging an insane amount of money for this, PLUS the customer must provide their own hardware PLUS, if he fucks it up, then it's all on that customer to replace the damaged part. I absolutely would NOT pay 625-675 dollars plus the cost of original hardware for such a poorly crafted toy.

the reason i suggested to make your own was because komodos mentioned the buggy/incompatabilities of the supaboy
onto your points...
1) agreed, the black tape is fugly, and he should have used an actual switch rather than a button
2) most of the people who offer portable building services on benheck charge around the same ammount, and that if a component fails you would need to provide money or a replacement one
the video i linked to was just from a random search on youtube to highlight you could build a 100% compatible portable SNES without having to rely on these crappy SNOACs/poor build quality/dodgy cart connectors etc.
wiggy:
Man, way to NOT stand behind your work. If I fuck something up, then it's on me, not my customer. That's a bullshit manner in which to conduct business. Can you imagine other businesses operating that way?
"Um, hello, while detailing your car we accidentally tore your driver side door off. You'll need to buy another and ship it to us in order for us to complete the job."
Superchop:
I'm with Wiggy...If I was to fork over that amount of money for such a thing I don't want to hear "Oh, sorry I f'ed up the screen so now you have to get me another one" If he's even putting that disclaimer up like that then I'd have to think his actual expertise in building such a thing is questionable.
And not for anything but then how do I know that the screen/console really did get fried? He could just say that so he can build another one and sell it to someone else or even keep it for himself.
