I don't know if anyone here likes to use Kickstarter, but I thought I might just post this in case someone hasn't heard.

Not sure if Cheetahmen II is worth $60, but I find it interesting at the least.

Well least it's cheaper than that "prototype" Cheetaman game that came out less than a year ago. This one actually comes in the box, with goodies, least that's what it says.

Either way, it's kind of one of those cult things that collectors and really dedicated gamers would like to see. It's bad, but it's Cheetaman, so why not  :P

Meh.

It's not like it's some sort of lost gem. It's a pretty mediocre NES game at best. I do like collecting for the sake of collecting, but this little item doesn't seem worth it IMO.

That faq at the end is hilarious.

BUT why Cheetahmen 2??? There would be so many other classics I'd like to see continue with a kickstarter...

I am rather amazed that it has already collected $38,000......kind of a waste if you ask me, haha.  I mean, yeah, it's up to each individual donor to decide if they want to contribute, so they chose to support it, but I just think about all the other kickstarter projects that never get funded, or the opportunity cost of this money, and it just seems like there has to be a better way, hahahah.

It's an interesting project to be sure, but I think the appeal may have been overestimated. I would never go for this, as I tend to only collect good games. ("Good" may be a subjective term, but I don't think any aspect of that word would apply to this game) Perhaps they should have committed to fewer unit, as $65 000 may be a difficult number to reach. Suppose we'll have to wait and see though.

I'm pretty sure the only reason he has 38,000 instead of 2,000 is because of AVGN!  :D

They did say they were fixing it so you can beat the game, as it stops after level 3 or whatever, maybe they will fix the controls.

I bet it has the same crummy controls.

If its just a small run then I could see the price for the game skyrocketing in after market sales.

Like for example look at Super Fighter Team's Begger Prince....... wait that game was pretty good... never mind.

Really?  I read that this was all a huge scam and that the AVGN and that other guy were only told it was only meant as a joke and that's why they even did that video

--edit--

Well...after checking other sites, the creators of the video said that it's not a scam at all.  Don't know which side to really take on this, but honestly I'm surprised that the game even got this much in donations and attention.

Meh, there are fixed roms floating around the internet already, and I can use a PowerPak to play them on my NES...I dont see the need for this. $30...maybe.

Yeah, apparently there was some huge outcry against this kickstarter, targeted specifically at James. James (the AVGN) simply filmed a cameo for the advertisement (being somewhat notable in the Cheetamen II community for his review) and hosted the ads on his website. Then those people with way too much time on their hands decided to attack them for "misleading" people to think that he was involved in this kickstarter (even though it becomes apparent pretty quickly that he is not). Anywho, the whole thing got sort of messy due to a lack of communication but I feel that the argument against them outright dismisses the fact that people are cognitive beings that can make their own decisions and are not just mindless drones. If you are going to support something, either financially or by principle, you ought to research what you're getting yourself into.

I don't see anything misleading.
