Welcome to my 1996-2003.  Testing used game consoles day in and day out in retail.  So many bug infested systems.  Genesis 1 consoles are the WORST! So many large openings on that damned thing.  I remember someone bringing in a green N64 one day and you could see the roaches crawling around in it.  These people would often look confused when you turned away their trade-ins based on that.  Like it isn't a big deal.  Ick.

I'm so glad Oregon doesn't have cockroaches! lol! I looked at my Genesis model 1 system and see what you mean. The hinges are way loose and it would be super easy for a roach to squeeze in through there. Although, I'd think that SNES Model 1s would be just as much as a problem, the hinge is very tight but the EJECT button wouldn't be a problem for those things.
wiggy:
No no no, look at the back of the Genesis 1.  See how the ports are surrounded by a giant, gaping hole?  I can damn near stick my finger in between the shell and the RF out LOL!  THAT'S where they get in.

Wait, no cockroaches?!  How's that possible?  They can live anywhere.  They're like effin' invincible.
Dan-Fu:
I've been all around Oregon and have never seen one here in my life. I have seen ONE in Nebraska and a boatload of those things that are a little bigger than your thumb in Maui.
wiggy:
You may not see them, but they really do live pretty much everywhere.

Honestly, outside of that job and a few crappy food service jobs, I never see 'em either.  In fact, the last time I saw one was working that job back in 2003.
Dan-Fu:
Well, none in this city! I've never heard of a single cockroach here!
