Let me ask you about 32x games and the universal cases.  Do 32x games fit in there snug or will they fall out of the case if it's held upside down?  If they don't fit snug I may try to track down some other type of case for those.   :P

Actually if you have the older UGC cases (the less shiny ones) the 32X carts fit in perfectly (better than any other cart actually). Like so:

With the new cases that are available for sale now though, you might have to trim the insides just a little like Wiggy said, but after that it should be a perfect fit just like before.  (Unlike the Genesis games which just don't sit in there at all lol).

Ummm... The GreenDog cover.... I don't think that girl is in the game... Great cover!

LOL, thanks! :)

It's GreenDog's girlfriend Bambi.

Yes, this!

Thanks for the responce Wiggy.  I shall give those Universal Game Cases a try then.  I'm working towards a complete 32x set (I'm about 10 games in) and I've been trying to figure out what the best way to go.  I heard Sega Master System cases fit 32x pretty well, but the thought of tracking down 30 some Sega Master System cases doesn't seem very fun.  Plus I'd probably have to turn all those SMS games into orphans, I'd be stuck selling just the game and inserts which is kind of odd.  Or I could throw away the insert, but the collector and me couldn't do that.  :P  So I think those Universal Game Cases sounds good.

Yeah man, go for it!  Good luck :D

I don't have any experience with the old cases, but the new ones seem to hold my Genesis games just fine.  Sure, they rattle around a bit, but so do the SNES games in my experience, and they definitely NEVER fall out of their spot and end up at the bottom of the case as others have described.  This seems to be the best change to the cases in their current revision.  I just did a little "shake test" with a Genesis and SNES cart in UGCs.  While the Genny cart DOES move around more than the SNES cart, it didn't move from its spot at all.

Oh, I know.  Hence the "fuck yeah" meme, which isn't to be confused with the disapproval meme  ;)

Yeah with the old UGCs the Genesis carts just fell right through to the bottom, but the 32X carts fit perfectly.  The new ones have the little dividers are little closer I guess.

I have found that 32x games fit well in some EA Genesis cases. The ones with the extra tabs for a standard Genesis cart. It takes a little persuasion to get it in at first but once it's in it is real snug.

Yeah, they'll also fit into most SMS cases with some persuasion, although the manual won't because SMS had smaller manuals.

I like these particular cases because there is no cutting required, and honestly once you get them in there once they snap in without any real effort after that. I also used this for my Sonic and Knuckles, after a tiny bit of cutting.

Thanks Wiggy, I used your covers for these games:

I added text on the spine so that it would work for those repos.  I think it turned out good.  :)

I just bought NFL QB Club 96 for the Genesis for 99 cents at goodwill.  The case holds a 32X game nearly perfectly.  I know Acclaim was the only company to make dedicated 32X clamshell cases, but this is a regular Genesis game.  The notches on the top and bottom of the case bow out slightly when a 32X game is inserted, but it still fits quite nicely, while a regular Genesis game is secure, but just a little loose.  The NFL QB Club game that came in the case is a standard size cartridge.

It seems like Acclaim made a hybrid case late in the 16 bit era that would fit both regular and 32X games, while not being dedicated completely to either.  This hybrid case is noticeably different from the dedicated 32X case than my NBA Jam TE came in.

I guess I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for more of these.  I always buy cheap complete Genesis games just for the cases, but now I know that there are some that are more versatile than I thought.
